I'm right there with you Emoretta. I have two herniated discs in my lower back and some curvature/scoliosis in my lower back. I really need to work on my core like hardcore lol. I started taking care of it over the winter but then I reinjured my back and got out of my rhythm. Now that my back is feeling better I need to get back into strengthening my core. Hang in there and I hope you do well. 🤙👍🙏💪

Just discovered your channel, loved the exercises, something resonated with me, the last two years I was the caregiver for my mother, she had had two strokes and was basically imobile,she lived with me So I did a lot of lifting, carrying and positioning her with careful form and a back support belt ,every single day ,I didnt go to the gym during the pandemic, she passed in May peacefully but I realized after this that I I was in incredible shape, strength , flexibility, and I feel core wise, I never noticed til people started commenting on how fit I looked, and I also felt great, also one of the things that I don't do it eat a lot,I eat when Im hungry and usually healthy , mediteranian type diet, anyway I just found it interesting that I never noticed the movements I used with my mother , were kind of exercises, Ive done many workouts over the years including weight training , martial arts, yoga , and these days I prefer to have lean muscle mass thats functional and balanced, working with my bodyweight more often, push /pull etc.. anyway sorry for the long comment

Great point about hand exercises - love my crawling for that! Also, try using a basketball or football when crawling; let the ball roll around a bit under your feet as you pivot and swap feet and hands. The instability of the ball will make it more playful and fun and will test your core and suppleness.

Been doing a huge garden project at ours over the last two years. This has meant manhandling boulders (carry, dragging, flipping etc) of up to 100kgs, shoulder carrying bags of cement and sand of up to 35kgs, carrying logs, shovelling, pick-axing, sledgehammering stuff, and all of this on a plot which is on a 20% slope, so lots of terraces, steps etc. I have definitely noticed my core get stronger and thicker. 👍
@iamdylancheek2 жыл бұрын
I know I could definitely add more core work to my workouts. However, I jump rope every single day and all of my training is bodyweight. So the variations i’m doing with pull-ups, push-ups and squats are giving me some great core strength without feeling like i’m doing strict core work. This video is going to make me add some more specific core strengthening to my workouts. Thanks always Trevor and Josh! 💪🏼
@Strengthside2 жыл бұрын
Nice. A lot of calisthenics work trains the core automatically so high bang for your buck!
@proverbalizer2 жыл бұрын
You could always throw in few hanging leg raise sets during the time you're already at the pullup up bar. Of course your grip can become a limiting factor if trying to do it all at once (but then increasing grip strength from more hanging can also be a bonus) L sit pullups are also a potentially interesting variation....super hard at the bottom of the range of motion
