I (Mike Winger) recently had the honor of teaching and leading communion in at my fellowship. As I prepared I thought that the Lord was leading me to teach on the topic of handling terrible stresses and heart breaking worries in a biblical way. This isn't just a self-help study for those who feel stressed by non-issues. This is biblical help for those who are worried to death or feeling totally overwhelmed by the anxieties and stresses they are facing in their lives. I pray that the truth of the Scripture comforts your heart as you put your hope in Christ and are reminded of how that hope impacts your troubled heart.
This online ministry (BibleThinker) is made possible by the support of people like you. If you want to support my continued ministry of creating free resources that teach and defend biblical truth then visit my web site here biblethinker.o...

I think I commented about this on your last video. My grandma passed away a couple weeks ago and everyone is asking me if I’m okay, because I’m not grieving in the traditional sense. But you said it perfectly. It’s about the joy...joy of knowing where she is and that I will see her again.

Great message Pastor Mike! I think that living in America especially, we have created a false sense of security and we think that as Christians we are not supposed to feel uncomfortable and stressed, when we are actually called for persecution and boldness in our faith. Alternatively, how beautiful an opportunity for our light to shine when are going through struggles, and allowing the world around us to see the peace, hope and un-moving foundation we have in rough waters. Praying for the ministry!

I'm not even halfway through because I'm already crying. Just a few days ago, I experienced a miscarriage after months of my husband and I trying to get pregnant. We have two daughters and we were trying to go for our third and final child, praying for a boy that we could name after my husband's late grandfather. After months of trying, we finally got that positive test and we were so happy and i couldn't stop thank God over and over and over again. But it only lasted a few days, because i soon after miscarried, and i have been crying every day since. I don't know if this is something that just happened, or if God is trying to teach me something but I've been praying that God would open my eyes to what ever it is. But I've also been overcome with anxiety thinking that God is going to stop us after only 2 children; thinking that He won't allow us to have the 3rd child that we desire. When you read John 16:21, that's when i really broke down. Really praying that God will turn my current sorrow to joy, because this is far more painful than i thought it could be.

“My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death”...yup. The joy is not “happy” or “ok”... it’s “sorrowful yet always rejoicing”. We rejoice in the promise of this life passing away and spending eternity with our Lord and Savior. Even in anguish and weeping, our hope is not in this life despite the heartache and gut wrenching pain we must endure here on earth.

So sorry for the terrible loss you have suffered. I just lost my mother, but she was 83. I tell myself that it hurts, but it's not like losing a child. I don't know if this will help but I read somewhere, someone was going through the pain of losing a loved one. She said she didn't try to lessen it or ask God to take the pain away. Instead she would offer it to God almost like a sacrifice. Because your pain is the sign that you loved. It wouldn't hurt if you hadn't loved him. So you can say, "God, I am not going to deny or diminish this pain. I will bear it (like Jesus bore the pain of the cross because of love) as a reminder that I did love my grandson, but I will offer it to you to share with me. Please take my sacrifice of allowing myself to feel this, but help me not to shut out You or other people, and feel only the pain. Help me eventually notice and appreciate that there are still beautiful things in the world, and people that need comforted like I do. Help me help them... eventually." Praying for you!

Hello Mike Winger, I have a question for you based on your argument regarding Acts 2:38. You stated that the word “for” means “because of” rather than “in order to”. Do we repent “because of” remission of sins? In Acts 2:38 repent and be baptized are linked with “and”. It is sad the way you moped the floor with this guy. Just so you know this guy is not a good representative of the Lord’s church. He clearly was not prepared to give a defense of what the bible teaches. The answer to your cleverly constructed question about John’s baptism in Matt 3:11, yes, the Jew during Johns preaching was baptized “for” (meaning ”in order to”) repent. If a Jew during that time hearing John preach and didn’t obey baptism then they were not really repentant. See Matt 21:25-27. Please let me know what you think, I would love to talk with you, thanks.

@@Yesica1993 the first few words. "Please open your bibles". The fact that tour bronze age book has little to no value in todays world, and todays problems is the issue. Your book holds little to no verifiable facts to your god or anything he supposedly said or did. The morally ineptness of your god and how he treats huanity is a joke unto itself. You would think a book supposedly written by a being with absolute knowledge could have made it a little more clear, and actually gotten facts right, but thats what your paid liars are for(Apologetics). So I have a problem with your whole mindless philosophy that a fictional character can help anyone!

What made you so angry and why are you so convinced this is a fairytale? I found a lot of efidence that the bible is more historically proved than other historicall facts like the existence of cäsar.
