Fantastique! Mr Young's ease belies his mastery! That splitter of his is a very elegant design and very powerful. Wish I'd known a CWR when I worked in marine survey - 3 Sub Oyster bracelets in 10 years... So tempted to have my 5 digit laser restored, but every gouged-out pin-lug tells a story... Romance vs precision, the eternal struggle...

How much does a service like this normally run? I have a 1998 16570 that's very stretched, I'm not even using it opting for a nato. It would be nice to fix it.

Nice video! I'm looking to buy the tool to remove the links and the other to asamble it. I ve seen some on ebay and aliexpress and diferent prices, if someone who has more experience can recommend me it would be good know. I would appreciate. Thanks in advance

Where can you get this vise that he uses to pull apart the bracelet segments? I would be very interested if such a device can help to remove fixed links of e.g. a Grand Seiko bracelet!

I think that's a custom machine, not sold commercially

There are other devices you can buy. Cousins in the UK supplies bracelet splitting vices. But the device used here is a custom made splitter that is a far more elegant solution compared to off-the-peg tools and it is very heavy duty. The different sized pins are also available. Quite easy to ruin a bracelet doing this wrong tho!

Doesn’t matter if the bracelet is stretched a little does it? It just makes for a jingly jangly jubilee - gives it character.

Might be so for you, I prefer restoration to a virgin state. I am a scientist +, need a reference point, preferably ZERO state!
