I FINALLY got my Biellman/scorpion pose off ice. I had had a half Biellman for a while now (around two months) but yesterday I actually got to grab my leg with two hands. This video, among some shoulder exercises, really was key for that! Thanks so much, you've been a great help :))

Hi Sophie, I'm middle-aged and have been inline skating outdoors for less than two years. I've been curious about inllne- / roller-based figure skating for a while now. I'm not all that flexible, but taking up skating has shown me that a former seriously overweight couch potato like me can get in better shape and even become stronger, better balanced and more flexible than most of us think. I have no idea if or when I'd be able to do all the poses you show in your videos - but I can try. Even though I can't do everything in your videos at this point, I appreciate the challenge to tone my body a bit further than I have. Thanks! = )

This is so well done! I'm totally gonna try this to improve my Biellmann❤👌✨ Also, how do you manage to spin that fast? 😱
@Sofabar7 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! You have to have a good center and try not to change too much in the spin that you lose the center, over time you get better at keeping the center so you can put more power into it.

Just watching this video now, and I'm quite confused as what to do with my wrists...

When I try biellmanns on the ice the tongue of the skate boot shifts inward. Are my skates not tight enough, or should I be lifting my foot up in a different way? Does this happen to you?
@neonagenda6 жыл бұрын
is it possible for you to do a video on balancing if its not a bother? i can get into the biellman well enough but i can never balance in it for more than a few seconds D:

Yes!! I def wanna do that in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! x

I got my needle off ice! I can’t wait to do it on ice. My boyfriend freaked out when he saw me doing the needle 🤣. Having both my oversplits and practicing everyday helped a lot. ❤️
@draculacepesh13826 жыл бұрын
Can you do the needle if you have only normal splits? I am not sure I will get even normal splits soon, so if it takes oversplits...
@wentithewindsongbird29395 жыл бұрын
dracula cepesh I’m really sorry for the late reply, I didn’t notice the notifications 😢 Yes! You can do the needle even if don’t have your oversplits yet, but it requires more back flexibility and you really need the splits at least. Hip flexors stretches are the key to achieving oversplits and never forget to do lots of back stretches 👍🏻🌟🧚🏻♂️

Hello ! Is it important to be able to do the biellman on both sides ?
@Sofabar Жыл бұрын
I think it's always important to stretch both sides, but on the ice it is totally fine to do just one side, but I have seen many people who can do both sides, but no it's not important. Only off of the ice it is. In my opinion 😌

Can you do video about balance? I'm a beginner and my balance isn't that good :"

My balance is pretty off when I get on the ice and I can't hold it when I'm off the ice. Does that mean I need to stretch more or just work on my balance?
@VFasilaJ4 жыл бұрын
Just work on your balance.

Why you see on face in every moment nervous (as worry about)? But movements are energetic.
