Trying to figure out how to help myself: 3:40 Hip flexor 5:05 Pigeon 6:50 Hamstring 10:15 Spine Mobility 12:05 Foam Roller Calf 14:30 Foam Roller Adductor 15:25 Quad 15:40 Orb (Glute/Hip?) It's funny you mention the IT band. I've had multiple PTs tell me to roll and stretch the IT band...

I do yoga twice a week and it’s become indispensable as injury and pain prevention.

I'll be doing this for sure. I keep saying I need to stretch and have no idea what would be beneficial and what wont. This is perfect. I know I will have an issue rolling my left calf from previous moto injuries.

Amazing videos! Love these informative videos that concentrate on MTB'ers. Still waiting on Mackey demonstrating how to pivot on hips to not ride on a constant squat.

Great video .... I need to stretch more not sure about others but I find riding indoors on a trainer the worse for getting stiff....I think its lack of moving around on bike etc. Thanks 👍

Definitely want to avoid static stretching before an athletic event if you care about force production for the first 10-15 minutes. It inhibits actin-myosin interactions. PNF stretches and foam rolling are better because they work with the Golgi tendon organ, other proprioceptors, etc.

I wish macky would have done some stretches too... it helps to see other tight people struggling. My marathon running yoga teacher had us do the first modification in this article for pidgeon pose. It helps a lot if your hips are really tight.

It certainly would have made the video more entertaining, but possible less instructive 😂

Yeah, I never stretch... I should definitely start doing it.

So, I shouldn't wait until the off-season to stretch? ;-)

Pigeon stretches out the piriformis, which gets a lot of action when people cycle and/or run. Stretch your piriformis!
