Great port, considered a bonus for Strider 2, I believe beating this game unlocks stage 0 in Strider 2. Capcom also infamously goofed on the disc pressings. Strider 1 disc is Strider 2, Strider 2 disc is really Strider 1. Bought this one ages ago.

Just replayed my copy of 1 on PSX, can confirm! My disc's labels are indeed swapped. Can confirm, I'm trying to beat 1 for the first time vs. the several times I've beaten 2 Can't wait to get the prequel mission...eventually....Stage 5 is kicking my ass lol

Thanks for sharing the video! I love the arranged OST. I only miss the part, in stage 2, when you are running down the snowy hill. The chip music changes dynamically, and really sets the mood for that part. It becomes a section that stays with you. -Matt

This is a good port, but I am noticing that the sound track sounds different. It sounds like they redid the music using comparable instruments. It sounds the same but you can hear a subtle difference.

Awesome on the PS1. Beats the PC Engine version, no question!! As is the case of TG16/PCE ports to the PlayStation, almost always the PS1 (or Saturn) version beats it and the improved graphics and soundtrack are the cherry on top.

I honestly liked the arranged music. I found the arcade music to be a bit greeting on the ears. Also, the sound effect kinda blend into the arcade music to me as well. I have no nostalgia for this game though, which is likely why I think the way I do about that.

I think the arranged tracks are okay, but cutting the opening part of the first level music is unforgivable. That bit is basically Hiryu's theme.

@@MikeThePsykat As well as the arranged music, the PS1 version doesn't use the original arcade game's music (for the most part) as it doesn't share the old arcade board's hardware. As far as thinking that the Genesis version sounded slightly better, each to their own, I guess.

It is a very common misprint. I think no release was made where the discs got the right labels.
