Thanks for the video I searched and searched for 2.0 videos. I Purchased one and it shipped today, so waiting for it to arrive. I’ve watched a lot of your videos and have always taken a lot away. Really appreciate that. So THANK YOU! Been climbing for years self taught now getting into it pretty heavy and wanting comfort and lightness. Getting older. Two hurricanes hit us here in Florida. So it’s a flea market of trees! There is tree work almost every 100 yards in any given direction for 50 square miles where I live. Suspenders are next! What would you recommend to a beginner for easy ascending? Foot? Knee? Handle? I always climbed and worked my way down. lol

Yes! Check out the CT foot ascender and the HAAS knee ascender at TreeStuff using my link if you would. I think that’s the best combo for going up as long as you have an SRT capable friction management device. Check out my video on SRT basics if you want to see some more options there.

I like my weaver Denali saddle allot. I used the v1.0 version for about 3 years and broke the main d ring attachment strap, tore away from saddle. Honestly, both weaver and v.1 are excellent units. Ill definitely pick up the v2 ❤

Problem with big D rings is the snap hooks on the flip Line by Rope Logic pass through the D ring and open up while climbing. I’ve had this happen twice and have seen it happen to other climbers, as well.

They aren’t paying me :) but they did send me this one. I would have bought it myself anyway I’ve used many of the others(treemotion, monkeybeaver, cougar, sequoia and others) and prefer this one.

On the job training is best, but you can get good instruction at events like arborfest, TCI expo and others, or you can get private training from guys like me, but obviously that’s the most expensive way.

Not sure what you’re referring to. I didn’t touch a carabiner. Just ascended the rope a little using my Unicender on a long floating bridge.

It’s just a thin long sleeve I wear all year long made by truewerk. They’re a bit pricy for what they are. Lots of similar option available these days.

Ive never actually tried a treerex, i tried a treeraptor once and really didnt like it, just uncomfortable on the lower back, i really liked the notch catalyst and the sequoia, also like the kinisi and treemotion, the kinisi is definitely more comfortable than the treemotion, and i guess if you're climbing all the time then its worth it, definitely not worth getting as your first harness tho

I wore out a tree motion pro back in the day but I really found it less comfortable, much heavier, and lacking in good gear loops. It also pinched the family jewels something fierce. I think the Kinisi has the same issues. It has basically the same structure.

@Stridertrees nah the kinisi doesnt pinch your family jules anywhere near as much as the treemotion, i climbed on a treemotion and a sequoia at college then bought a sequoia srt when i got into the industry and just bought a kinisi about a month ago now that i wore out my sequoia, i am really liking it since i climb pretty much everyday, the back support is noticeably better than the treemotion and i use 2 dmm vaults to hold the kit i take up the tree with me as standard and then i also use a dmm mega vault for rigging kit and a shembiner extra large for my saw, since i dont really use gear loops i dont find the lack of them to be much of a problem

I did find the treemotion did pinch the family jewels a lot in college and thats why i bought the sequoia originally, i only bought the kinisi after trying it

If you used a chest harness that had a dorcel attachment and was ansi rated, would that make it acceptable for fall arrest in North America than?

Would it function correctly… MAYBE, depending on the harness and how it mounts. Would it have an ANSI certification… no, because harnesses are tested and approved as a complete system, so it’s more about what you need. If you need the cert for your employer it won’t work, if you’re just concerned about having something safe, then totally it could be done.

@ oh it’s all good, we still have a great relationship. They are a rad company and I love their gear. I’m just not cut out for corporate work 😅
