Brilliant. That's the first video I've watched in a while that gave me that "wow - I want to be there" feeling. Really, really good. I know I say this in all of your videos, but your drone footage is top notch... you definitely have a knack for it! And cheers for leaving a link to the route... it's been duly added to my favourites and I'll be doing it soon. Cracking video, well done :)

Hi mate, just watched this and yes a cracking video and so lucky you managed to get breathless wind and the drone up....but what the heck is that thing on the edge to your left at about 4.50 mins......looked like a seal wearing a straw summer hat !??

Brilliant!! Again I watched your video. Memories, memories! I saw your feet have a few near misses like I used to get a lot of, (I only worked approach shoes), Good thing about boot wearing is twisted ankle, 'fall over, fall off,' prevention. I always had a wish, that I would set off up from the Tarn at the bottom, (if it was possible after assessing it's safe), and go straight up the highest side to the ridge summit just for fun, and to be different, (or to kill myself!), 'But,' I kept forgetting. Keep up the exellent videos, they are GOOD!

I watch a lot of wild camping/video vlogs as well as spending a lot of time in Cumbria .you my man by your actions in the hills and the way you discribe what's happening.sound and act like a proper mountain man.as opposed to lots of "wild campers"who seem to spend all their time telling you about the gear they have brought with them.

Cracking video, thanks for posting 👌 The views are awesome! Is striding edge doable with a full pack on? I’ve never been up but am planning my first hike & wild camp up Helvellyn in August, and am deliberating the best way up…
@BlackCrag5 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much 😊 It certainly is. In fact my bag here weighs in the region of 20kg. It just means you need to pick your route with a bit more care. But it's definitely doable 👍

Black Crag can you recommend any good spots for a wild camp up there? Is the summit best or would somewhere near red tarn be more suitable?
@Churchillous5 жыл бұрын
I noticed most of this video you were carrying your camera. I was wondering would Striding Edge be achievable with using just one arm? Im asking as I only have full range of movement in one arm and worried this might stop me doing Helvellyn.
@BlackCrag5 жыл бұрын
I think you'd be fine. There are only 2 sections where you might struggle: the chimney and the scramble up just after it. However, there's a side path that goes around the chimney to the left and the scramble up after it could be achieved with one arm, so long as you've got string legs. I needed 2 hands at that point but that's because of the weight of my bag. Just try it. If you can't do it then just sit around and enjoy being on the edge 👍
@Churchillous5 жыл бұрын
@@BlackCrag Thanks good advice. I did "Sharp Edge" up Blencathra yesterday and got abit stuck so made my way back down and up the other side. I still really enjoyed the day.
