Gotta love Nick!!! He is a fucking legend. Always angry and unsatisfated with everything, no matter if he wins or loses. A true warrior and just wanna give a side not for my motherfucking brother Nick Diaz. He really seems to dislike fighting for real. As Cesar Gracie would say: "He fights to survive, not because he likes it." It makes sense when you see him here talking all angry about fighting, but we get to notice his real passion - TRIATHLON! He really loves that high endurance shit, that's why he's got that 'never give up' mentality. You can see that he is all happy and smiles when he talks about Triathlon. He should stick to that, but give us, his hardcore fans a couple more wars in the Octagon to cement his legacy forever!

Nikola, You said it perfect! I couldn’t have said it any better. I think Dana hesitated signing Nick because he and his brother speak their minds and are brash. That’s what makes a real man . They stand on their own merits. It’s so funny that neither Nick or Nate have ever taken a “ fighting nickname “. I like both because they only get stronger as the fight goes on and they always thank their team!
@peterkenton8 жыл бұрын
It's amazing how if you talk about what Nick (even Nate) truly have a passion for they get all warm and fuzzy inside and gush about it. The talk of his friend Paul beating him in racing is evident of this. I think Nick deep down inside hates fighting which is why he seems so upset or out of it talking about it.

I've watched a lot of Nick's interviews, he never smiles or seems happy in anyway shape or form. However when Ariel mentioned triathlons, Diaz suddenly switched moods, his eyes lit up, he smiled (a rare sight indeed) and actually told a decent story. Did anyone else notice that? I honestly feel Nick's heart truly lies with his triathlons, he just no motivation for MMA anymore. When he went MIA before the press conference, he was coming back from a triathlon too.

i think he's trying to say he got fucked up in the leg in his last fight, and they made him fight again so soon. Not enough time to recover fully. So he thinks there trying to set him up to lose. All in all, he has great mma I.Q. and he makes more money than most of us, accomplished more than most of us. On top of that he's socially awkward which makes him an even badder and crazier character. Now he's what i call a fighter.

Not only a Great MMA fighter, but a true martial artist. That's why, IMO, he never seems happy when he talks about his matches. It's not traditional, but it made him rich. Seems like a good guy. I watch a lot of these videos, but I'm no expert. But this guy has to be one of, if not THE toughest out there. But not a mean personality, and very forthright about how he felt losing a bike race (hey, c'mon, Nick, don't beat yourself up for THAT!) . It seems like he feels he's being used, though, and I'm sure he IS - it's the nature of professional fighting- just set em' up for the bucks. I realize the timing of matchups can be critical and tricky, but ALL fighters are human beings, and need time to rest up and recuperate, and be with friends and family.
@Inediblehulk13 жыл бұрын
I don't think I'd get along with him, but I give him props for being who he is regardless of the political rules. And for winning exciting fights, which is all that really should matter. Too many fighters try too hard to be "ideal" professionals, and it gets boring. If you don't like him, try to beat him. Till then, he's the champ and can behave how he wants.

@Jaremus A question I'm curious about is if somehow Shield wins the welterweight belt ( I'm giving Shields a very slim benefit of the doubt here), will Diaz clamor for a unification title shot? However, I'm predicting that GSP and Diaz will have an epic showdown to determine the best welterweight in the world.
@riceburner88813 жыл бұрын
@Jaremus Nick Diaz was in the UFC, got into an altercation with Joe Riggs after a fight, then he chose to leave the UFC to fight for his coach's attempt at a fight promotion; that promotion failed and Diaz went to Elite XC, then Strikeforce. Dana White was very dismissive of bringing Diaz back to the UFC after that whole fiasco where the Diaz brothers, Melendez, and Shields jumped Jason Miller. However, times has changed so Diaz could come back.
@riceburner88813 жыл бұрын
@Jaremus Not only GSP's takedowns are a problem, GSP's cardio and his methodical striking are more threats. I hope we see title unification bouts later this year; I mean, when Pride got bought out, they went through it so I hope Strikeforce does the same.

@Jaremus13 жыл бұрын
@riceburner888 The big difference being- Pride ceased to exist, so they had to unify titles, having two champions for each division. That does not neccesarily have to be the case with Strikeforce. I agree with you about GSP's striking (cardio too, but that's obvious that I do). I saw one of Shields older fights and he looked really bad with his stand up.
