kenny waters On the contrary, I acknowledge that he does he a good skillset, however the main reason why I think he sucks is because he feels entitled to a titleshot and won't fight for anything less than 500k. Thing about that is that he def does not have the most stellar record in the ufc, and in his last few fights, he does nothing more than mean mug a dude, wave his arms in the air and say " what bitch? I feel sorry for the fighters in the "lowest promotions" who are lucky make $2,000 (after taxes), which is "next-to-nothing" when you consider all of the gym fees, gear, time away from their day jobs, medical expenses, etc. Then you figure that a fighter who makes $2k on one fight, might make less than $2k in his next fight, especially if he loses the previous fight. When you consider how underpaid “fight winners” are, then it’s even far more worse the guys who “lose” a fight. Imagine that it costs you $1,500 to train for a fight, then you only net $2k after taxes from that fight. What a f---in' nightmare!

No one is the UFC makes less than 2k per fight, win or lose.

Cant believe he got a 5 yr suspension for pot. For many fighters that is a UFC career. Wish he could have got millions for lost income in a lawsuit. I always thought Diaz should have been compensated along with Mark Hunt and believe it or not Bisping. Hunt fought juiced up Brock and Bisping lost an eye to TRT Belfort. UFC knew they were both juiced to the gills but they didnt want a main event to be canceled. In the words of Ivan Draggo, If he dies...he dies

4:01 is when Nick starts to get pissed off, it looks more like a personal thought or reflection on something instead of Ariel's interview questions. Of course Ariel clocks this, and being exactly what Nick was just referred him to, employs the chess move to push Nick to that check mate. Even though he has made fuck ups, you have to salute how good Helwani's reading of a situation is. Not in the sense that he is pissing Nick off, but he gets the true Diaz out of Nick with an honest reply. Then finishes it off by showing mutual respect. I hope Nick comes back and fights, even for 1 bout. It would blow the fucking roof for true UFC fans around the world!

Ariel does show a lot of respect towards the fighters. His care & skills as an interviewer are vastly underappreciated. A plethora of journalist have done what he's done. Albeit not as well, they've still attempted to generate a story while at the same time drawing in people to watch & read their publications. Ariel has also been at many times the recipient of unwarranted & unjustified criticism. Many harbour disdain towards him simply b/c fighters disliked him b/c he failed to stroke their ego.
@h.louise4746 Жыл бұрын
You're joking, right!? He is trolling in every single interview I've seen. He tries to outsmart his interviewees and to provoke negative reactions from them. He's disgusting and his jokes/smug grin are, as Nick says, slapable.

Nick is trying to say that they need to have the rules laid out as far as scoring. It can't be subjective like how the judge feels only. If in one fight taking the person down wins the fight. And in another fight standing up wins the fight. And in another fight the person who's coming forward wins the fight. There needs to be standard rules for scoring. And these guys should be getting paid like pro boxers.

Ideas for new rules: 1. Score a takedown like you would score 1 significant strike. 2. A fighter can win the round even if he's been on his back the entire time, so long as he's been active doing damage and going for submissions. 3. Wrestle-hugging a guy on the ground without landing 'significant' strikes is penalized or the fight is stood up sooner. 4. Repeatedly taking a fighter down and doing nothing after being stood up is penalized or not scored. 5. Knees to head of downed opponent.
@fivestarz3s13 жыл бұрын
