Blood Angels vs. Leviathan Tyranids reminds me of an escalated version of Space Hulk-such a classic matchup. Would be fun to see a normal tabletop setup like the inside a huge derelict space ship!

Man what a great entry to open up the League this year. Love that it's starting so early! The Tyranids did so well on the points front. What I think would be good for their second game is to go up against the Admec, since both of their units are low impact I think it would be a very fun tactical scoring game.

Great looking armies. I’m sure I’d run something similar for Tyranids, but likely swap barbed gaunts for at least some Genestealers, just to have a few in any list! 😅 Any way to magnetise the Baal turrets to switch to Baal Flamestorm cannons…? If you had some Lascannon+Missile Centurions for BA instead of the Razorback and small DC you could up the firepower and throw them about with the Libby Dreads for fire arcs…Dev Cents (blue helmets) are not terrible in combat either for BA…Similarly switching one of the Libby Dreads to some Assault Cents (yellow helmets) would be cool to get thrown up the field by the remaining Dread…you’ll need two more boxes of Cents though obviously…or a DC Dread with Grapnel and Fists and double Flamers is still great to come on from reserves to fight monsters or vehicles…Last hurrah of the firstborn…😅

I actually think they got the balance between them and power fists right.. previously you never took power fists as they were just worse. Now they are easier to hit with, but the hammer gains the chance of splatting some devastating hurt out.

Love watching your cinematic battle reports. I'm a big nids fan. It seems to me like you're playing nids as they were configured last edition, when they could send their monsters to go toe-to-toe with anything and have a reasonable chance to come out on top. Now nids design is... janky. Its built around battleshock - not just shadow in the warp, but also screamer killers (you keep forgetting that they trigger battleshock checks on their scream attacks) and also especially neurolictors. The army now almost requires them to function properly, since they boost the nids' piddling offensive power substantially into tougher targets. Nids are gonna struggle in combat anyway, but you need to get some neurolictors and position them strategically (in cover) to cover enemy units in their aura. They will make a load of difference. Also, if youre gonna take barb gaunts, consider overwatching them into dangerous melee units aiming at your lines. If you had used them against either the sanguinary guard or death company on turn 2, one of them probably wouldnt have made its charge (-2 to movement, charge and advance rolls). You have to remember your special abilities! 😜 If you get a chance, watch how John Lennon from Art of War plays his nids. Its less fluffy and lore-friendly, but thats just not how GW designed them to play this edition (apparently the designers think that playing an attrition-based objective-grabbing army is more fun than one that actually kills things) 😂

you cant use barbgaunts that way. their ability only works during your shooting phase not whenever they shoot so no disruption on over watch. " In your shooting phase..."

I agree it sucks but it was never allowed, i dont know why people thought it was. the rules were always clear. Coming in from reserves counts as a normal move and units cannnot charge after disembarking from a transport that moved. it was never confusing.

The chaplain had archangels shard. That would have been str 6 +2 str on the charge, and litany of hate +1 to wound, and lance from archangels shard for an additional +1 to wound on the charge. Permitting 3ups to wound on the hive tyrant.

Unit Coherency, which now requires that a unit’s models be within 2″ horizontally and 5″ vertically of two other models from the same unit if the unit has 7+ models (increased from 6+ in the previous Edition, to allow you to add one Leader without changing your coherency rules).
