It's fake bowling. The same thing as those small scaled bowling-like machines you find in arcades. This is just life size imitation bowling. It's 100% fake. The pins are affected by the wires attached to them, regardless if the wires cross paths or not. The pins' movements are affected by outside forces, in this case the wires. Would you attach a wire to your bowling ball? Of course not. The USBC now has zero credibility and should be mocked at every opportunity until these things are categorically banned from any type of competition.

Well, the strings do have some invlovement.....but that's the only downside they pose in reality. Ball return is similar to the AMF 82 series / they conserve power / reduce costs/ it's an unfortunate future but a future nonetheless

Doesn't matter whether league players like it or not. Sadly, this is the future of bowling, the decisions already been made by the industry.

Yep, the houses that do keep free falling machines will be museums basically

Only because Bowling Centers are not managed right, proprietors refuse to pay their mechanics hence the reason why Mechanics are hard to find as America Capitalism is now embracing corruption by corporations and government as inflation kept rising. Just to let you know Bowling Centers in other countries outside the US and Europe aren't declining and they're still running Free Fall Pinsetters, the example of those countries are South Korea, Philippines and Singapore.

I get it, USBC is trying to find a balancing act to help bowling centers stay alive. Mechanical pinsetters cost a lot of money to run and can be hazardous/lengthy to repair. But wow, do I dislike stringpins as the solution. They enable a lot of phantom pinfalls when the wires knock over a pin, or snag the wire of a pin causing it to topple. At the same time, they kill some pin-action that would've resulted in split conversions by pulling them back. I might genuinely prefer the slower re-rack times of manual pinsetters than this, can't lie

Yeah many cons with a few pros

Hi like the other way instead of using strings for going bowling.

Same, free-fall bowling is much better

Here's my question do you think string pin bowling is legal for bowling?
@TheBowlerYT22 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, I don't make the rules for bowling...and so the official answer is....SOME string pin lanes are approved. Personally, I don't think string pins should be used for competition though.

Strings won't make a difference for league bowling. Also not all string pinsetters are created equal. It would have been nice to know the model number of the pinsetters.
@TheBowlerYT7 ай бұрын
I doubt the people working knew what the model number was.

3:05 This is why StringPins are illegal for Competitive Bowling

For now, I see them finding a way to get around it in the future.....unfortunately

Literally looked like free fall. There's a lot of hyperbole and fear of change surrounding this issue. If it saves the centers and the sport I love I'm all for strings. In essence bowling is an imperfect game any way.

Change is change, everyone is entitled to a preference but strings migh be the only thing left after some time

Cool vid! But string-pins... yuck. I will say they are improving tho, but it won't be the same
@TheBowlerYT7 ай бұрын
Yeah it never will be, I noticed the pit area destroys your ball much more as well.
@georgemoorcroft56874 ай бұрын
i dont like string pins because bowling will never be the same
@TheBowlerYT4 ай бұрын
Nope, but it's cheaper than other forms of bowling so unfortunately it'll be more popular

Compared to when? Bowling has already changed since it's inception.

Definitely the funniest comment on String Pin yet!
@gravityslave627724 күн бұрын
These are a BAD idea. It's not like a computerized counting system or automation, it messes with the core principle physics of the game. It totally effects how the pins interact. They dont travel normally after being hit. They can't tumble, topple or roll properly. If you watch up close footage, you can see the strings hitting and wrapping around each other causing them to move without the actual pins touching. Theres absolutely no benefit to string pins other than it's cheaper for the house.

@gravityslave6277 Yeah but cheaper is all they need to hear
@gravityslave627724 күн бұрын
@@TheBowlerYT Cheaper on the front end. But you know bowlers. You can't mess with their game. Bowling centers with these are gonna have a huge drop off. The only people bowling will be kids at birthday parties and couples who date. All the moderate to league experienced people will jump ship. I know I will.
