The new thumbpick looks to be made of the Ultex material. I prefer the white or tortoise colored ones also.

Go to the Medium gauge D'Addario 13-56 XS. I tried the light on a Lowden and wasn't happy. The Mediums sound much better as you will see. If tension is an issue I just tune it down a step or two.

Thanks, I know what you mean. I played Mediums for years and don't want the extra work for my wrists. I love the tone on the 1st and 2nd strings in a Medium set though, and would customize a set with those and the rest Lights. I did start playing a whole step down for a while, and if I wanted to try that again I could see Mediums doing the trick which would be interesting. Thanks for the suggestion!
