Strip Pieced Diamond Quilt with NO Y-Seams! Fat Quarter-Friendly Blooming Star

This month's design, Blooming Star, is one of my favorite kinds of quilts ... one that looks like it is a lot harder to sew than it really is. With strip-pieced diamonds and no Y-seams, the top goes together fairly quickly and without a lot of fuss.
With large diamonds, this is a great pattern to show off those “too pretty to cut up prints” so you can let your favorite fabric shine. And that's perfect for Eden by Sally Kelly for Windham Fabrics. It is filled with lots of large florals that look fabulous on a grand scale.
As usually we walk you through every step of the block construction process. And this month I also cover how to assemble the blocks into rows to create a wedge, and how to join the wedges into a quilt half so you know how to do every step of this quilt construction process.

Never feel you have to apologise for breast feeding - you rock. Thanks for the tutorial and my doctors advise when I got a mild dose of covid (double vaxxed and boosted) and was feeling fine. She said your body is working really hard in the background, rest, rest, rest and do not try to push through - you do not want to end up with long covid.

I am so confused. You said to cut it 6” not the 5” that you demonstrated. How do you make it 6” . Sure wish you would have showed the correct way to cut. New and confused.

Just make sure to follow the pattern and use the video to understand the techniques. I had very limited time in the studio to film because we had to clear out the entire building so I could film because my entire family has COVID.
