In todays chronicle I'm stripping up some copper wire for my next scrap yard trip. This wire was very large and required the largest hole in the #stripmeister to get the job done. It took a little while but I was pleased with the result.
If you enjoyed the video give it a Like and sub to the channel!

Same stripper here. I like cutting mine the length of a 5 gallon bucket. Prestripp in one bucket, stripped in 2nd. Warm the wire up, makes the outer thhn flexible. Thanks for the video, makes me remember the old days!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my StripMiester! I'm a framer, and I cannot believe ALLL the crap the electricians throw away!?! I ALWAYS go back to clean up all their Romex. I make about 400$ a month extra, just by stripping their "trash". One of the best and smallest investments I've made, honestly. I've found it helpful to process all the material on a workbench, and kept as long as possible, as you mentioned. That was a HELL of a SCORE man! I'd be so pumped! lol. Happy Scrapping!!!

I’ve had two drill powered strippers one of them being the original stripmeister. I came across over 2,000lbs of 500 mcm copper cable and knew my little drill stripper would be too little for the job. I upgraded to their biggest industrial stripper (E2000X)and it paid for itself in under 2 hours. If you guys strip a lot of cable/wire do yourself a favor and upgrade! Great video bro! 🤙🏻

old school timber with holes of various sizes to accommodate the cable/wiring and a dry wall screw. Screw down into the hole to meet the wiring and simply pull. This scores the insulation to enable it to be pulled of the clean copper.

KZbin directed me to you. Advice. After running the wire. Smack the wire on the ground, it will spit and then be real easy to remove. Also, straighten the wire be letting sit in the sun. Really will move Thur then. Nice pile.

I just got the same stripmeister and I’m also using the same drill and the same battery, and also made the same mistake of cutting some wire into smaller sections 😂 I’ve got about five years of scrap saved up (residential electrician) and was excited to finally buy a stripper to use. I quickly realized it’s gonna take more time to sort out different size wire as opposed to constantly adjusting the machine, but it’s making quick work of a lot of the larger wire I have. Another tip that I saw someone else mention that also helped a lot was to leave some of the wire out in the sun for a bit to soften the insulation on it, made it cut and peel a bit easier. Happy scrapping!

@@CountryBoyChronicle I have no clue but I have about ten of the very large heavy duty storage bins full, I think each container is like an 80 gallon container, give or take, and then four large garbage cans full, probably about 20 Home Depot buckets worth of smaller stuff, and a couple garbage bags that are also pretty full. Been piling it up in my garage for 5-6 years or so since the last time I took a load of scrap. Definitely not going to bother with smaller stuff, but just in the last couple hours I made quick work of an assortment of larger wire. Planning to spend a couple hours a day for maybe the next couple weeks or until I get tired of doing it and give in lol. In the future I’ll definitely be sorting all my scrap by size to make it easier for stripping. Less adjusting the machine. Got a lot of work ahead of me!

That's not your typical wire. The coating on that colored wired is very thick and actually grips down into the wire. Also, warming the wire up will make things go easier as well. Heat will allow you to straighten out those kinked ones. Black wire is easy to strip, but from experience the colored wire is the most difficult.
