Lisa, I want to share a very personal part of my life with you and those who will read this post. I share it not for sympathy, but to hopefully touch others who have or who are going thru the same circumstances. I have always been a "Daddy's Girl", even writing those words brings me joy. Anyway....in May of 2015, my amazing dad was diagnosed w/Late Onset Dementia. Sadly, on July 27, 2015, just two months later, my dad took his own life. Our family was crushed and my/our life would never be the same. I quit working to take care of my ailing mom and was blessed to have been here (along w/my sister) with her for over 2 years, before her passing on Feb. 25, 2017. I say all of this because to me "The Total Package" has changed in my life. To wake up and no longer here "This is my daughter, Mindy" by my dad or my mom was crushing. I don't know how to explain the feeling...I am no longer anyone's daughter. So, in this part of my life, the "Total Package" is that I am a mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend & daughter of my parents. Hugs...

Last year, I purged thru my Instagram and stopped following a lot of influencers, celebrities & brands. It gave me such a false sense of reality and skewed what’s truly valuable and important. Instead of being inspired, it made me feel bad about myself and made me feel unhappy, discontent, & judgmental. After that initial purge, I took it a step further and unfollowed all accounts that didn’t bring me personal joy and inspiration (some of them were people I personally knew) I carried this audit on KZbin too. With that said, I love your channel and Ive been so inspired by you. Keep being you!

I did the same thing - cut out the Real Housewives, all of them, this year. And for the same reasons. I feel sooooo much better not watching them! It used to be fun, but now it’s just unhealthy…. I have not missed those shows one bit either!!! No temptation at all to sneak a peak. I just don’t care any more about those scripted shows and their inflated egos, and my mental outlook is healthier for it. My indulgence now is Hallmark movies. Even my husband enjoys those! XO 🌸🧚🏻🪄💕

I have friends that all have their opinions and life directions, and we all enjoy each others company. I have recently met some who if you dont believe what they believe they cant stand it. No drama llama here. I am 64 years old, dont look it or feel it and I think its because I keep drama out of my life. Quit watching TV 5 years ago. I also stopped watching TRHW because I realized that the negative drama was seeping into my subconscious and then surfacing into my day. I loved this video! ❤️ Kudos to you for realizing things had a negative affect and cutting them out! I cut out a lot of news since 2016 b/c I just couldn't handle it and I'm much happier. It seems like half the battle is figuring out what's making us stressed and unhappy, and you think it's one thing but it's another. I quit watching young girls do makeup on YT bc I'm 45 and not interested-I used to be so FOMO, but I'm so over it, haha. I used to think the "Total Package" was my mother: great cook, great listener, problem solver/ wise, confident, loving, respectful, funny, supportive. I still think that, except I think just being what your partner needs (in my case, husband) is a simpler way to put it. ❤️

I only keep updated on the important news, usually online, too much is repetitive and depressing. That’s funny you mentioned the Real Housewives because I also stopped watching for the same reason. It really became gross to me..how much drama, negativity and hatefulness there is on those shows. I don’t miss any of it. This was such a great video. When I was in my 30's I had friend's 45 and 50 that said they cooked forever and they don't want to any more..I couldn't even dream I'd ever be that way. It started slowly at about 45 and I'm 55 and I haven't cooked much for 7 years. Only special things for my grown kids if they ask. But my daughter cooks better than I ever did and cooks all the family favs. Definitely different times and season's of life! Empty nest or close to it is a start of different way of life for yourself.

ESV (English standard version). Start in the beginning of the New Testament. Much easier to read than the Old Testament. You can go back to it after studying the New Testament.

@DebDewey Do you have the King James bible? I find it very easy to understand and i'm from Sweden. I think it's fifth grade English so I guess that's why even I with all my difficulties and diagnosis can understand it so well. The moment we Believe THE Gospel for us living today the good news found in 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 How that the Lord Jesus Christ died for ALL our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day for our justification we are saved forever and sealed until the day of redemption. I read the book of Romans through Philemon and also made a playlist I listen to at night and it's mindchanging. The Apostle Paul writes to us gentiles living today. All the bible is for our learning but it's of course not written to us to obey today after the finished crosswork of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Grace & Peace!

I also quit watching the housewives years ago. They are too mean and I don’t need the negativity. I don’t find them entertaining at all. I quit watching the news constantly the summer before the election. I only get brief highlights when my fiancé is watching it. To me, the total package is showing your significant other love and respect,, being a true friend, having a relationship with God and trying to be positive, fun, uplifting, doing a good job, and being my true girly self. Every day is a clean slate and a gift from God.

Thank-you, Lisa! You've made me realize I'm wasting a lot of time watching mindless television. I started watching 90-Day Fiance which was fun, but now they have all these spin-offs. I've gone from watching one hour a week to more than eight hours each week, just with that one show. I never really thought about it until now. It's ridiculous, and I need to stop.

I work full-time but cook all the meals because I am eating a very specific way for health. I cook all the meals at home & pack a lunch for work....helped me lose 60 lbs! As for news or reality tv, we got rid of our tv about 12 years ago. I don't watch tv, don't care about popular culture. Don't have streaming services. I look up the news stories I need to follow and leave the rest. Very happy with that decision!

You have made wonderfully positive changes to your life! I was obsessed with the news as well and completely turned off the MSM roughly 2 years ago. I still keep informed through alternative sources but I keep it to a minimum. I listen to YT or podcast sermons & Christian channels more than ever now:) I feel so much more at peace and no more stress! We even switched churches earlier this year after attending the same one for 25 years- and it’s all good:) PS. You look amazing BTW!!! Xoxo 😘
