YOU ARE SO INSPIRING.I CAN REALLY RELATE TO YOU.I AM VERY KIND,COMPASSIONATE AND EMPATHETIC,I THINK,SOMETIMES TO A FAULT. IF SOMEONE IS MEAN TO ME,I THINK I DID SOMETHING WRONG AND SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG WITH ME. I WORK ON TRYING TO CHANGE THAT AND LIKE YOU SAID"THAT IS MY JUICE"AND IT'S SWEET...WHY WOULD I WANT TO LOSE THAT TO SOMEONE WHO JUST WANTS TO BULLY AND TAKE AWAY MY GOODNESS. I WISH I COULD MEET MORE FRIENDS LIKE YOU.

Last time I went off was in 2018 on a group of “friends” while playing a drinking game. They were picking on me ganging up and bullying me💁🏼‍♀️ I went off on all of them like a hurricane and a tornado combined. 😬 I was bullied as a kid and just took it but now that I’m grown and found my voice I engaged. I had a “carrie” moment and I became the monster. I still remember it and hated how I lashed out. I didn’t have to prove anything to them. Those weren’t friends. I stopped drinking and dropped all the bad influences and refuse to be baited ever again.

I don’t agree with that analogy, just because people have hardships and we all have them in our lives is not an excuse for anyone to be rude or disrespectful in public.
@DaltonsFriendswood

I don’t think it is meant to be an excuse, just an explanation. It certainly doesn’t make it right but it can be the reason for why someone acts the way they do.

I believe that in a relationship, always trying to be right can be damaging. An emotionally strong and unselfish person is able to hold their tongue. If it’s still worthy of a conversation, cooler heads will prevail after some time has passed.

I agree and totally get what you're saying! I've been driving almost 4 hrs a day to keep my granddaughters and homeschooling which has been a life changing thing and I'm so tired....but my daughter kept going off on me in the morning. Shes never been a morning person and she's always liked to take things out on me. I taught her to stand up for herself and I was fiesty back when I was younger so she gets it honestly but I just can't handle the morning fussing..it ruins everyone's day. I finally stood up to her and told her I'm not going to be disrespected or her punching bag. It makes sense what ur saying about squeezing the orange juice. I'm at a point in life where aurguing just isn't something I have the energy to do. As I've aged and become closer to God I have a different perspective on everything and life's just too short to get upset and upset others. And like u said people are all different and have different views and that's what makes us individuals. It's ok to be different and that's one thing that seems to be being pushed out there. It doesn't mean people are bad just because they might believe differently. It seems people are very up-tight and I blame the media for a lot of it. I don't believe anything they say anymore. There's also a spiritual war going on out there. Good against evil. I wanna learn how to put on my full armour of God too. Sorry so long...I do get exactly what you're saying! Love u Lisa! Have a great weekend full of Blessings!! 💓

The Bible says it the best.... (since I am a preacher lol) out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. I like to say out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth leaks. What's inside will come out, all their thoughts and beliefs so let's make love so much in us that love will leak out. Love all you share my beautiful friend. ❤️😇

Sadly I’ll have to respectfully disagree with you concerning the label “tribe”. I’m an indigenous woman. That word was given to indigenous people by early Europeans. It wasn’t used as a sweet term. Lisa Loved this! I like Dr Dwayne Dyer!! I was Nieve on mean people till I went to a Big factory to work for 11yrs. There I learned how some women love to be mean! It was hard to hear & girls gossips about others, took me a while to deal with it. My Mom used to say let it roll off your back, like water runs off a ducks back. Yrs later I feel like the only ones that can hurt me are my kids, & my husband. Which is so much better, I just dont let others steal my Joy, Which means some people you have to keep at arms length away. This has helped so much, some people are just out to be dramatic & stir the pot. Sometimes with my husband, I just let little things go, instead of fighting with him. I just want to not have Drama over little things that he probably didnt mean it the way I took it!! I get what your saying & Agree!! Tfs

I definitely think there is a difference between being assertive and being aggressive. Being assertive, to me, means being true to the best of me and having clear boundaries. If someone is being rude and disrespectful, I always remind myself that it’s reflective of them and the issues they have/are having. Having said that, if someone is aggressive, I do my very best to pause and just make it clear I am not engaging with that type of behavior. Some years ago, I did experience a situation with a family member that upset me and made me lose trust in them. I made it clear that their actions were unacceptable and inappropriate. I did not engage in a back & forth; other cues indicated to them that lines were crossed. At one point, they approached me and asked me if I had anything to say to them. I knew it was not the path for me. I quietly said that there was nothing to discuss. The person in question did not show any remorse or regret. It was more of “Whatever you say to me, I will use against you and make more trouble and cause more turmoil”. It was not worth it. The “Orange” metaphor is always an interesting one. We all have issues (we have experienced some kind of trauma, hardships, etc); do we all go around spewing disrespect, hatefulness, creating havoc and turmoil to others in our lives? Some feel/think they have a license to that; others do not. A Gandhi quote that I find very powerful is “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet”. Thanks, Lisa, for making your channel a place of self reflection and growth. 💙

I have just had my 58th birthday and I have discovered that a lot of issues with people you know such as friends family or even neighbors have to do with jealousy and unhappy people. Misery loves company. If they can't be happy they try to make other Happy people miserable.

With age comes wisdom . I never really got in a tiff with anyone , but sometimes I was frustrated on how things happened when I walked away . That’s was not good for me either . Now that I am old I just let it roll of my mind. A paster once said , if they are mean when they are young they are great at it when they are old. Some people don’t want to seek wisdom on how to walk in Love.

I used to ❤️ You Tube so much more when it was fresh and new. Now, it seems to just be another platform for narcissistic people. Not you particularly or anyone. Not naming anyone, but it’s just gives everyone a chance at their own self promoting stardom, their 15 minutes of fame. I stopped watching so many channels because I shouldn’t take it it anymore. I’m so much happier not feeling like I have to keep up with the Jones’s. I just live my life enjoying it everyday with family and friends instead of living it through anyone else’s. It was like a breath of fresh air.

I understand what yuh mean about not want to be a door mat, I usually walk away from conflict if I decide t will take more from me to enter into the conflict than to leave it alone. My energy, my head space, my good qualities are precious, and conflict and confrontation may take that from me - I guard my energy and don’t easily give it up to the unworthy or the unnecessary.

Well said! I was watching this guru today name Sadhguru. He’s amazing! He says something along those lines like if you allow someone to decide who you are, then it would mean you’re a slave to them. Something like that. There are two types of people, there are joyful people and miserable people. Don’t give that power to the miserable party. Don’t give them permission to decide who you are.

If we could actually see what demons ppl battle with pop up over their heads, we’d be horrified! The most freeing thing is to never pay back evil with evil! Awesome insight Lisa.🌸 It takes more wisdom, self-control, and strength to hold your tongue and not give in to the innate impulse to open your mouth and give the offender "what they deserve." It is never wise to argue with the mean/nasty/negative/angry/argumentive person because there is no logic or reason within them at that moment. Anything you say will simply escalate the issue, making you feel awful afterward. Stephen Convey's 7 Habits is one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing.

I hear ya & agree. I could do better but I do def feel sometimes some occasions do call for you to stand up for yourself. Like you did in the store? You deserved to there! And aw about Brooke walking away, that’s what my oldest did in a similar situation as well. But then when we got to car she was upset at them & said she was glad I spoke up etc. lol She’s the type who may really WANT to stand up for herself but never will. I can’t relate to that. I hold back often, however I must not REALLY feel the need to speak up otherwise I would lol. It’s such a tricky situation but when you mentioned how you were mainly touching on TO OUR LOVED ONES?! YES YES YES YES! THAT is something I’ve gotten so much better at in my thirties. It’s wild how a decade can open your eyes to what’s truly worth it. When people don’t learn & grow like that, THATS when I’m weirded out lol. not as much when they’re young. ( although never an excuse for poor behavior & respect ) :). . Xo

Great points, Lisa. They’ve been pushing the negative, divide and conquer propaganda for a few years now, negativity all the time, you really have to look for positive stories. Can’t take the bad attitudes personally, I’m always extra friendly to the sour pusses, it either shakes them out of it, or they double down and amp up tell you to flip off.

Oh gosh Lisa - On a recent business trip the TSA agent was just vile; yelling at people and was just horrible. I had to really resist confronting her rudeness. I let it slide and moved on with my day! No regrets!

Lisa I really understand where you are coming from when you speak about people reflecting their issues on others. I really do. Where you lose me is when you start speaking about how some people view "Rich people" in a negative way. I think that it more than what you glossed over in your video. Anyone that lives hand to mouth and struggles with keeping it all together resents those who flaunt their wealth. I am not saying that you shouldn't enjoy what you have built financially, only that I can understand how people would get annoyed with someone always talking about the luxury items they purchase; the new house, car etc. etc. People feel it is shallow and not caring. I watch a few KZbin channels and I certainly know that some of these folks are NOT struggling and I appreciate that they do not flaunt their lifestyle. I get that it is a fine line because you will never please everyone. I believe that is where the negative comments come in. I do appreciate the relatable stories of how you struggled and how you give some great advice on those topics. Stay humble my friend and you will go a long way on your channel. :)

I immediately wrote this down "First, seek to understand, then seek to be understood." I hope I can remember to do this...I rarely watch the news, but this a.m. I happened to be watching the news and there was a story of a lady in a Chipotle's and apparently because Chipotle's was short staffed, there was some problem with her getting her food and she is saying "Somebody better get me my food" and I thought that person has no idea what it is like to work in a restaurant or better yet, she needs to return home and fix herself something to eat instead of being so nasty to people just trying to work (maybe this a case of seeking to understand?)

A fellow choir member who was positioned behind me has an extremely load voice. As I am deaf in one ear it was very uncomfortable for me so after realising the singer on my deaf side had an opposing deaf side we swapped which poisoned her deaf side to the loader voice behind. The loud singer behind us overheard our switching reasoning as us suggesting she should sing softer and became very angry, offended and began crying threatening to go home. I felt terrible and was trying to explain it was about my being deaf in my right ear and my precious good ear was not going to manage which I felt was very logical but she went on about this for the two next days telling everyone she could in such an angry and teary way what had been done to her. Unfortunately, when two deaf ears are sat deaf to deaf the volume needs to be upped a notch and she heard us. I was not asking her to sing softer or changing her situation but she saw it that I was because she’d been told in the past that she sings too loud for a choir and should try to match her volume to others. I carried guilt for her hurt for the next two performances yet it was not me who hurt her. She was hurting by her past. in the end, everybody heard this from her with tears. I was very sad for her and just observed her duplicity by accepting my explanation and compassion then continuing to tell of my meanness. I was in the end of the other girls coming to me and telling me she does this all the time and that she just tried to get attention. Very sad juice in her I think. I’ll be pleasant to her in the future and I’ll be avoiding her where possible as although I’m compassionate I don’t have energy reserves to carry her baggage after I’ve worked hard to lightening my own load X

What I’ve learned is that you need to discern which battles are worth fighting and when to walk away. Sometimes you can correct a person that might not know what they are saying or doing is hurtful - at times it’s best to walk away maybe slowly or fast.

Enjoyed these videos. Sometimes I slide in to reactivity but when I am able to resist it does feel more like a win and definitely is more peaceful. I like to think it may rub off on the person as well and what a better world that would be .

Just to say when people are rude to me I generally know it is because for some reason they don't respect me. Also it can mean they think rather a lot of themselves. And of course there are mean people i.e sociopaths.

You said ‘chump’ love it Lisa, it’s funny sometimes you can defuse a situation by being extra kind and being an example. In my career I loved to change a grumpy persons attitude and get them to smile, people sometimes are just lonely, however I believe there are just mean people in the world sad too.
