I wish all instructions were given on a video as done here as I can never cope with written instructions. Crystal clear, relaxed instructions, Phew, brilliant. I wasn't sure it this was the light for me - until I watched this and, yes, it is. Thank you Jesse

This vid just saved me a TON of grief. I couldn't understand why my 100s were not powering down to 1/256, but after watching the video I knew to turn of HSS, and I was able to power down to 1/256 again. Thanks so much!

Hello. Please notice that this model contains torch instead of modeling lamp. This light source doesn't turn off when flash is triggered. It causes that ghosts are visible for moving object at low level flash power (1/256) - both sources of light mix together. For static objects and mentioned conditions - the "modeling light" causes orange cast. This is serious dysfunction. I hope it will be fixed in the future.
@Strobepro Жыл бұрын
It can definitely be an issue when enough ambient is picked up by the camera. In most common applications, having the lamp remain on is not going to be a problem. Still, it's interesting that other Godox lights using LED modelling lamps are able to disable their modelling lamps during the flash exposure. We're not sure if this is something Godox can fix with firmware, or if there is a hardware limitation with the type of LED that was used.

@@Strobepro I fully agree that in most common applications it is no problem. Unfortunately, eg. photographers who want to use this lamp for macro photography will be unpleasantly surprised. My intention was to warn such a users and allows them to be aware of this issue. Regarding other Godox lamps - I use AD600Pro, AD600B, V860III, none of these devices have mentioned dysfunction. Modeling light has 2 configurable modes: continuous and interruptible. In second one - LED is disabled before flash is triggered and lights up just a while after flash.

Thanks. I hate reading their tiny manuals in Pidgeon English. It works a bit different to the V1c which you have to set it to slave before the wireless can use it, making the display turn orange. I keep adding to my Godox range and it's getting expensive fast.

can it be charged with external powerbank? with the usb-c port? or that's just for firmware updates

The AD100 Pro is quite capable outdoors if you play to its strengths. It will struggle in direct sunlight if you are using any kind of modifier, but keep to the shade and you should be quite happy with it! Hope that helps.

nice presentation. you forgot to mention ad200pro which is compact, compatible with magmod products. Only disadvantage is the weak modeling light of ad200pro not strong enough to go through a softbox in a dark studio to make focus. is ad100pro meodeling light as powerful as ad300pro ? i am fan of the ad400 pro modeling light for studio, video,...
@Strobepro2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc, The modelling lamp on the AD100 Pro is a bit of an improvement over the strip of LEDs present on the AD200 Pro. You'll have to go to the AD300 Pro to get into a modelling light that you could feasibly use in a softbox though. If your modelling light is a priority, then you might want to consider some of the plugin options as well (since no modelling light is particularly useful outdoors anyway).

thank you. Just needed in night city portraits and studio with all lights off (i need to maintain a tungsten light or so ON) to help focus more than to see how light is applied. ad400pro modeling light is amazing !

Hi Ted, Yes, but if our slow sales of the AD100 Pro following the common knowledge of this issue is any indication, I suspect there is still a lot of old stock circulating. At our request, Godox sent us a bunch of the new colour-corrected front lenses so that we could swap them onto our existing stock. If you order from us, I can guarantee that your AD100 Pro will be colour-corrected, but I can't make the same promise for other retailers. :)

Why not just get the ad 200 ?!?! Better to have more power incase you need it. Or if you are releasing the ad 100 it should be 150.00- 175.00 not 300 bucks
@Strobepro3 жыл бұрын
The AD100 Pro is quite a bit smaller (though with a somewhat different form-factor) and it has a zoomable head like a speedlite. Native integration with the AK-R1 accessories is another plus for the AD100 Pro. The AD200 Pro could still be a better choice for your main light, but not every user will need that extra stop of power. If you're one of those users, the AD100 Pro is a better travel companion. For an existing system, the AD100 Pro is a flexible little accent light! I'm afraid price doesn't always scale with watt-seconds, but this little guy still comes in at a cheaper price-point than the AD200 Pro or any flagship flash from the big camera brands (which the AD100 Pro will gleefully outperform). ... Sorry, I got a bit carried away with the sales pitch there. We're not particularly biased though. We do sell the AD200 Pro as well! :)
@richryanphotography Жыл бұрын
you are WAY OFF on your power, the difference between the AD100pro and the V1 is only about 24 watts. AD100pro is 100 watts, and the V1 is about 76watts, the AD100pro is not 1.5 times brighter.

The difference in mathematical terms is ~1.32, so I think he can be forgiven for rounding up. 🙂 He would have served viewers better by saying its ~30% increase
