What we show in the animation at 2:12 is the technique surgeons use when applying a temporary shunt to the carotid, and the order in which they release the clamps. First, the superior (left) clamp is released and the blood flows backward to equalize the pressure and eliminate the air bubbles. Then the inferior clamp is released and blood flows normally from the heart to the brain (2:24).

Thank So much on the end of July my grandma went to get her eyes checked and he found pieces of plaque in her eye. She went to the doctor in July I was there to make she was healthy I'm so glad that she survived cause I never met my grandpa cause he died of a heart attack 9 years before I was born. But my grandma will live for a very long time thanks so much Nucleus Medical Media.
