Now this kind of video is what I need more of. It is very easy to learn how tu use your camera, to chose your settings, but to become a great photographer you have to see things differently. I think that training that photographic eye takes a lifetime...

While I shoot with my camera a lot, what I do often is use my phone to practice, framing angles etc, mainly because it is so limited in comparison; I have to get creative. I don’t know how to attach a photo or I would to show what I mean

Recently found you on KZbin. I'm a Fuji X-H1 and Nikon D850 user and just recently purchased a like new Z6. I love the Z6 and am in the process of selling the D850. About 5 months ago I purchased the 60mm 2.8 D lens on eBay that you had in this video. I purchased it to use on the X-H1 but now can use it on both cameras. It is indeed a great lens. Lotta good information on your channel for new Z6 owners so I will be checking out many of your videos. John

You are such an amazing photographer/artist. I really appreciate you sharing all your photography tricks/tips especially like this video that gives insights into light and shadows. I find you the most reliable source of technical information so far especially for Nikon Z6. The more I watch your videos, the more I like your thought process and logical explanations; always good to see you with a lot of information. I used to photograph a lot with D90 almost 12 years ago. Then life caught up with me and I was not inspired as much. Recently I started getting back into it again and getting inspired a lot with your videos. I just placed an order for a Nikon Z6 with 24-70/2.8 to upgrade my old D90. Initially I was leaning towards Sony a7riv, but after watching your videos and because of all my previously owned lenses especially the ones such as 10-24 wide, 105mm macro etc., decided to go with the Nik route and get a Z6. I would really appreciate if you could please go over in one of your video with your file workflow and organizing and the backup strategy locally as external/NAS hardware wise and also which cloud based backup service you are using such as amazon drive or google or crashplan or backblaze or sync.com or dropbox etc.

Awesome content my man.. keep it up! Speaking of 35mm, I recently got Nikon Tamron 35mm 1.4 , I got it adapted to my Z6 with FTZ adaptor . The autofocus is surprisingly flawless! It feels as fast , if not snappier than the native 50mm 1.8Z lens. Super sharp , vibrant colors, and the bokeh is amazing no lie .

Nice vid! Btw what do you think as z6 user, is it too much 30k shots for electronic shutter..? I'm in doubt between used z6 and new one d750 for same money? Cheers and keep it up!

Now I know why I resinate to you and your channel. You summed up my philosophy about photography at the end of this video when you said, Each photograph is a time capsule. I've described photos as such for as long as I can remember. A fleeting moment in time. Captured with the camera.

I think this is one of your most important lessons you've presented. I didn't have anyone to explain this to me back in the olden days, I figured this out myself, and remains the most important thing I share with people starting to take pictures. I think you could expand on the problem new photographers have of letting their minds eye fool them when taking pictures. the don't remember to inspect the frame to make sure composition is right, horizontal vertical lines correct, the minds eye edits the image in their brain but they don't set the image in the camera to match what their brain sees. does this make sense. have seen so many people take pictures and ask "why doesn't it look like what I saw" keep up the excellent work as I enjoy the shared perspectives and sensitivity I see in you. would support you more but being retired gotta watch the dollars peace and health to you and your friends and family

Excellent advice Will. This is very helpful for people that just started in photography. When I first got into photography as a serious hobby about 12 years ago I was so focused on getting the big picture shot that I would overlook the many great detail shots that where right there in the same area. This helps people learn to slow down and look at everything that's around them, not just the obvious subjects. Thank you Will for another great technique video, see you Friday brother!

Great video. You seem to be the Z6 expert, which I recently bought. Quick technical question: Do you shoot weddings in continuous focus? If so, do you set the Z6 to shoot based on focus or button push? Thanks again for the videos. I'm enjoying them as I get to know my Z6

Question Will, do you ever feel you have to sacrifice any creativity to generate income? Why I ask is I thought about trying Photograghy to generate income at one point in time, but as a hobbyist it is fun for me..If I turn it into a business will I lose the fun? Right now I have no pressure as a hobbyist, so I guess I am asking do you lose the fun as paid Photogragher? Thanks in advance..Ken in Arizona..

Hey Ken, Not so much actually. Sara and I have gotten good at attracting the type of couples we want to work with, but that took time. In the beginning we definitely took jobs that completely uninspired us. I did a video a few months back and touched on this, can’t remember which one it was though haha

Love the under exposure technique. You are more than just a wedding photographer. Its great you say `But what about this'....... That makes the photograph yours. When an artist says `But what about this'..... now we have a real person behind the art. If this was 1986 (the year I got married) and if I lived in America (yeah I know that's a few big ifs!) then I'd be ringing your number to come and photograph my wedding. Respect man.

Will, I'm commenting on your thought provoking and heart felt video about what’s happening south of where I live. It’s so hard for me to witness what’s going on during the pandemic to what I also consider my community south of the border in the USA. It’s a train wreck and it’s during one of the most dangerous pandemics that we’ve had in the past 100 years. The nightmare comes right from the top; Integrity is one of those things that can’t be bought - and courage takes guts. When people running things don’t have any, it’s up to each and every one of us to speak up and I'm glad you did. If I knew that my actions could cause someone to be hurt or killed, I would do whatever is necessary to protect that person, even if I didn’t know them - that’s just the way I’m built, and I know there are millions of people like that all over the United States. This pandemic has just started; it’s going to get worse but I know your country will come out of this thing better than ever. All it will take is people to extend a hand to each other, rather than a fist. Thanks for your video, Will.

Hey Will - this was what my photography teacher taught me about a long time ago - life and photography is all about perspective right? Well said buddy. UPDATE: I've been now shooting extensively with my Z6 - finally had a chance to put it through it's paces! Tell me I'm crazy but I have been hand holding my 35m 1.8 wide open for 1/2 a second and getting sharp photos (and that's only F mount glass!) what the heck is going on?! This thing is crazy with the image stabilization. Also I found shooting the silent shutter under LED lighting, that I can get no banding - assuming a good shutter speed selection. I wouldn't be using it for events though - I'll at least use the EFCS for that just in case. I leave the camera on Auto for that and it picks the right shutter every time so far. Coming off my high end DSLR's this Z is so quiet! I'm just blown away with this, and that hasn't happened with a camera since my D750. All the best my friend! Chris form BC, Canada.

I have used a D3300 for the past 4 years and I just got my Z6.. A bit more complicated as I never used to shoot video but i'm loving it! I'm shooting 4k without any issues and posting them as short clips to try master editing and shooting video but i'll get there eventually! Audio from the mic is fairly decent too but after buying the Z6 i'm going to wait a bit to get a 3rd party mic
