It's funny you noted that this is definitely one of those songs that makes you feel something. And its not just the lyrics, right? It's the way that the lyrics ride on a wave of strong instrumentals that really carry the emotion. Its an experience, much in the way that Kid Cudi's music is. I actually heard this song a few days ago and couldn't help but hear a bit of Cudi influence in it. Just the way Stromae built up those instrumentals to point of explosion, which is exactly what is delivered in the lyrics as well. Ended up finding an article about an interview with Stromae where he was asked about what might have inspired him to sing about such sensitive and introspective topics and he said "For me, it’s thanks to people like Kid Cudi - the people who crossed that line between hip-hop and dance music." I just thought it was amazing that more artists are being inspired to create music like this, music that people can feel in a very visceral way.

I couldn’t agree more with this whole statement!! The kid cudi influence is definitely there I’m glad you pointed that comparison out.

That mindset you’re describing in relationships, is often a result of trauma or lack of parental attachment. You become paranoid, bc you know ppl can and will hurt you, and you’re trying to think of every possibility to protect yourself from further harm. Adding to this is we tend towards choosing ppl who aren’t healthy. I’m not entirely sure why that happens. But it’s a pattern you have to actively put an end to.

@@carnweez_pb and he sings in French. Also, his name is "Maestro", with the syllables inverted (which helps you to pronounce it).
