Yes please! That one takes my heart and pulps it like an orange. It has a special resonance for me of pain I will never recover from but having my pain put into words is its own kind of balm.

Daisy (Chinchilla) has really bad anxiety. The nails and often her outfits are part of her ‘Chinchilla’ costume to put a little distance between herself and the world.

This. She’s such a talent to carry that fear kind of hurts. So glad she’s doing good with her work. Ren calls her his musical sibling. ❤

She's not in her usual getup in this one, but instead is wearing the uniform of all white. It's specifically to prompt the viewer to look deeper into the video itself, as there is an underlying story. I'll give you a hint, it's kinda like Hi Ren.

Came to say these things, and that at any other time you'll see her with a hat. That in itself speaks to the intent of the song

17:56 I read (or heard) at some point something that helped me reframe my persoective on habbits & behaviours. It goes something like this: the moment you become conscious to a pattern of behaviour is the exact moment it stops being a pattern (which by definition is unconscious) and becomes a choice.

I’ve watched that video and reactions to it hundreds of times, but there was something about the way you worded your reaction that really spoke to me - and I SO needed somebody to say it to me exactly that way right now. Thank you. Sincerely.

I actually found Ren through his 4 duets with Chinchilla - I listened to all of her songs first. She's very underrated & deserves to be much bigger. You're def doing Ren justice with your reactions. Pills making you feel dead on the inside.

The lyrics about a “floating chalk outline” were so powerful to me also, because for me, the idea of floating is typically used to describe something that is peaceful & a result of untethering yourself from what weighs you down, but as a floating chalk outline, you discover that floating can also feel helpless, like because you are untethered from what keeps you grounded, you are left to just drift , at the mercy of any breeze, unable to control your direction as your feet are off the ground

Ren refers to Chinchilla as his musical sibling. He surrounds himself with very talented people.
@VictoriaDuncan-mq7zu12 сағат бұрын
WOW. You are the first reactor to explain what I think Ren actually meant with the lyric “take this one wash it down and you’ll be fine…. The feeling goes and your drawing chalk outlines.” As you explained, if we take that addictive thing, our feelings temporarily feel better, but we are only killing ourselves- “drawing chalk outlines”. The theme echoes in the song: “Erase ourselves”-killing/numbing ourselves “Bury myself (in a great big smile induced by the addictive thing) - killing self. Somehow as many times as I have heard this song I didn’t quite catch it like this but “oh my my” it is great therapy seeing it this. I love Sail “Blame it on my ADD” too❤

I don’t even hardly care if that is what they are doing, just because they are getting the music out to new crowds, happy to support them support him who is supporting me. But yeah, I lost my uncles and this man has got an uncles wisdom, subbed him from my first viewing of his reaction and he hasn’t made me regret it yet. Check out some of his earlier reactions, man speaks from his heart.

You break down the lyrics masterfully! I would looove to see you react to The Big Push - Swan Song. The Big Push is Ren's previous band with Romain and Goran and Swan Song has some of the best lyrics I've heard! The song is beautiful, but the lyrics usually don't get the attention they deserve from reactors.

This song is so amazing. What REN can make you feel is incredible. As someone that has battled heath issues for over 25 years, this one really speaks to me. For me the afraid of being ok, because all things change hits so hard. It is always a gift to have a good day, but a huge mental blow when I end up stuck back in bed again never knowing when I will have another good day. REN and Chinchilla are powerful together. Great reaction! Looking forward to the next.

❤❤❤ Such an emotional and powerful performance by both Ren and Chinchilla. I feel you called me out a little bit on my coping mechanisms, lol. Thank you Sir. Might do a couple things I have been putting off tomorrow. It's mostly pain that stops me, but ill be in pain even if I dont, so...❤ Btw the loud chair snap was intentional; it was meant to scare us. The fear of being happy is called Cherophobia. Ren is amazing.

I love all of REN’s music even the ones that cover tough topics because they are often avoided in conversation and song. I don’t know if you’ve listened to Ren Dominoes, Ready For You, Insomnia, Hold On, Dear God, Suicide, also as many have suggested Ren and Chinchilla Live How to be me.

I know everyone else is saying it, but yeah, if you liked this one you'll REALLY like "How To Be", performance wise and it's a got a lot meaning to sink your teeth into. I gotta give you props too man, when you like song...pause....When you truly feel a song in your soul, it shows, and is a beautiful thing to see, it's these types of reactions that got us all hooked on watching them, so thank you for an honest, real reaction!! Oh, yeah, about that uncomfortable change, Marlon Craft has a bar in one of his tracks called "Family", about something his mom told him growing up.... "Don't ever get comfortable being uncomfortable". ✌💚

"the words were not what i was expecting with these chords "... most music that attempts to communicate a social message uses the melody the increase the drama and weight of the words , either bc the words do not convey the artists feeling sufficiently , or they feel that is needed to stress the importance of the message .. with Ren it is wholey unnecessary . he has taken the required time and thought to craft his message perfectly .. he KNOWS the audience Knows the importance of the message. by playing a Lighter softer acopanyment He makes the subject more approachable and Might catch the ear of the passerby with the contrast. this is to me the secret of Ren .. taking the time to think deeply ,, write words that reflect a honest picture

Chinchilla is also astonishingly good on her own - especially live. If you're interested after you've done the other released duet with Ren, you might want to take a look at "Fingers Live for Hunger TV" or "1:5 Live". You've only just begun the Ren rabbit hole, plenty more where this is from :)

Just as a quick FYI, and not trying to be pretentious: “parenthesis” is the singular form of “parentheses”. So if you were referring to the left one you would say “left parenthesis”, “opening parenthesis”, etc. It’s much more common to hear “parentheses” though because people are usually talking about the two of them together That said I really enjoyed your reaction I think it’s so much fun watching you go down the rabbit hole

Kinda deeply disagree, feel like REN needs to be discussed digested and dissected, there are layers on layers not just in what he is saying but also what people get from it. But if you dislike reactors doing their reacting thing that is no big problem. You can listen to REN uninterrupted on his own page, and that is worthy too. But what’s up with being cynical about a first time reactor reacting? Literally their job description there. If you are getting burnt out on reactors doing their reactions just exit quietly out the back, no need to slam the door ya know? Reactors are a big part on how REN got his success in the first place, and I prefer their grassroots outreach advertisement to the big business down your throat repetition biz. That’s just me, and not trying to shame you, just trying to make you think for a moment, feels like you had a bitter kind of day or year even, but throwing some cynical shade on somebody else doesn’t make you feel better in a good way, I bet. It didn’t make me feel better anyway, and I’d rather you didn’t try to wound others because I want you to like yourself too end of the day, and that is harder to do when you let that bitter cynicism take hold of you my friend. Hope you don’t take my comment the wrong way, I worry about the bitter hearts, and I am not saying your words don’t have some truth, just saying that voicing your cynical thoughts ain’t healthy, it actually hurts people, and it ends up cutting you too.
