That's only part of what it's about. I've listened to interviews where he talks about this song and he says it's not really about his own dad because he doesn't really write about his own experiences much. He said it has more to do with Fatherhood and what that consists of. He said he doesn't really know what does, but the song is kind of questioning that. I LOVE the video though. So much meaning packed into it. How could someone ever not love Stromae?

Where is your dad? Tell me where is your dad? Without even having to talk to him He knows it’s not going well Oh my dear father Tell me where are you hiding? I must’ve counted my fingers at least a thousand times Where are you dad, where are you? Where are you dad, where are you? Where are you dad, where are you? Whether your believe or not There will be a day when we no longer believe On day or another we’ll all be fathers And one day or another we’ll all disappear Will we be hated? Will we be loved? Natural fathers or geniuses Tell us who gives birth to irresponsible [fathers] Hey? Tell us who huh? Everybody knows how to make babies But nobody knows how to make dads Mister “know-it-all” would’ve inherited it, is that it? Does it come from sucking our thumbs, or what Tell us where it’s hidden, we must’ve eaten our fingers at least a thousand times Where are you dad, where are you? Where are you dad, where are you? Here are the reasons: -You should live the moment and not capture it for later. -You can listen to the studio version of a song which most of the times is better than the live one. -You can even watch some live shows from the songs. On KZbin. -If you want to remember that you went to the event just keep your ticket. That's what I do and I remember to which shows I've been.

Rose Petals His music is truly amazing. I love how it's so upbeat😊 but have you searched the meaning behind this song? If you translate the title, "Papaoutai", to english, it literally means "Dad, where are you?". The whole song is about how his dad in the 1994 Rwandan Genocide when Stromae was only 9. His father died early on in Stromae life and no one in his family told him his father died. All they found at the scene was his father's shirt with an ID. (He said this in an interview. It's on youtube.) His dad missed out on Stromae growing up and that's what this song is about. His music is upbeat but has meaning and that's why I love it so much

+Nina Duran Listen. All these people have every right to record a performance and watch it later. Have you not ever been to a concert? Everyone there will record/take pictures of the performer. Just because it is a more concentrated audience does not give you the right to bash them. Not to mention that without recording his performance, you would not even have this video or any video. So shut up and pay attention to him instead of bashing everyone who wants to watch a performance more than once.

Percy Olimpo Pretty much a boy's dad is missing and he' s wondering where he is
@CrisTheZero8 жыл бұрын
+Ava French I think it's not like he is missing but more like he is fisically present and absent at the same time. I think the song tell us a story about how it affects the child. Sry for the possible mistakes.

He sounds surprisingly good live. I am so glad. Also, how cute is he? Lol. You wouldn't think that someone so awkward looking would have such a voice and stage presence. I love this.

Ugh I absolutely LOVE everything about Stromae, I mean you don't even need to be fluent in French to understand him. He's a great performancer, the way he freezes or dances.. He just makes you feel what he's feeling. I guess I'll never stop listening to him.

Can we take a moment and just appreciate how cute Stromae looks and the beat at 1:36? I'm a percussionist who plays both piano and drums so I really appreciate a good beat.

Le français n'est pas un langue populaire dans Les États Unis. Sur la côte ouest, plus des élèves étudient l'espagnol. Je suis en traine d'étudier le français maintenant. Pourriez vous me dire si j'ai écrit ce bon ou mauvais?
