Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another STROMAE reaction made possible by all of you with a new song "L'enfer." Stromae gives us a sort of a creative instreview-music performance I've never seen someone do before. He gets personal, gets deep with lyrics. He also discusses the extent of how he went to create his new music. See my reaction now! This one is a must!

" How creative is that ? ". Well in fact it is the first time ever that we have a performance on the main TV news at 8 pm. Especially in TF1 which is the biggest channel in France (and first channel in Europe). Absolutely stunning. Everybody was really surprise yesterday night. That was for sure a moment of history, musically speaking. Have a good day Dereck always a pleasure to watch and share reactions with you. Cheers from France.

Hi, if you read this I let you know that the person in charge of suicide prevention in France said that since Stromae made this live interpretation the numbers of call to 3114, (sucide prevention hotline in France), have greatly increased. That's show how good his interpretation was when you actually speak French, every subtil change of tone with his kind of talking/singing striked us

Hi, i'm just here to translate. Hi, I'm gonna write this in french : The team of stromae prepared this with the TF1's staff for a whole month, just to do this magistral hit, coming from nowhere. Even if the song in itself is sad and at the same time beautiful, the french language take another dimension in the mouth of stromae, with rhymes you only see with the singer stromae

Did you notice that gentle work with camera, lights and graphics on the wall behind him? Btw. in the last seconds of the song there is audible audio from monitors in the studio when sound engineer bring interview microphones back. This is really live, there is audible small sound of his mouths (tongue, clapping, ...) and there is visible 2 microphone ports on him. Apparently one of them has coroid charasteristic or something like that, that's why there is not monitor audio so present. Big up to Stromae as well as to the people behing camera (lighning operator, camera operator, sound engineers, ...). It seems easy but make it in this quality, it needs some perparations and obviously they didn't did it without it. So they had time for that and that's nice! :)

Love your reaction. I must admit when I saw this interview on the TV yesterday (I live in France), I felt the song was so dark - I just hope that his long break has brought him back to a happier life. Of course if you listen to all his songs, although the words are dark, the music is mostly happy. I do believe he is more than a "pop artist". I don't know whether you can find another word than "genius" to describe this artist's work. As for the abrupt change from the interview to the song, a major French newspaper "L'Observateur" wrote an article published this morning saying he was using playback - I find that difficult to believe.

Hey Derek, this was a real live performance during a nightly news show viewed by millions and millions of people. Stromae’s song, “l’enfer” translates as “Hell”, and is the same version on the album, not out yet. I watched your reaction. He captured you! Love your song selections, keep the good work.

The insane part for me is how I understand every word and regardless of what he says on all his songs I can't help but sway to the music. The poetry and words are equally wild. Can't wait for him to come to CA. I don't even need to hear the other songs... Album pre-ordered lol.

Some people think he usually sings sad songs but for me he's a genius and his music talks to people who sometimes feel alone or have suicidal thinking and maybe he changes their lives and make them a little bit more happy because they realise they're not really alone, even if they are, and so he can help and saves some people from death by his music, thank you Mister Stromae, we love you

He's not called Maestro (Stro/Mae) for nothing. Brilliant and even the attention to details, the decor behind is an intense blue and slowly start to fade into a grey rainy day. There is a small important issue with translation btw, he say "I had sometimes suicidal thoughts and I'm not proud of it" (some french idioms, he said "j'en suis peu fier", which transalte litteraly to "i'm a little proud of it" but actually means "i'm not proud of it at all"). This is very deep song for him, because that is the reason why he left the scene for 7 years. He dealt with bad stuffs, it's probably his most deep and intimate song with "papoutai"

Hi Derek ;proud of our little Belgian, he is a genius, I discover the extract of the French TV. it’s really a genius, since its beginning it makes us bombs as titles, its real stroke of genius is for the clip " formidable" it turns it in hidden camera, but if well realize it really must see it. kiss from Belguim

Non non he don ‘t proud of it on the lyrics please non non : lyrics : I'm not alone in feeling all alone And that's already something And if I counted all the people like me We'd be many Everything I've been thinking about It's crazy how many people have thought just the same But even that doesn't help me feeling less alone Actually [Chorus] I've considered suicide a few times And I'm not proud of it Sometimes you feel it'd be the only way to silence them All these thoughts putting me through hell All these thoughts putting me through hell [Verse 2] Am I the only one with the TV on Watching the Guilt Trip Show? Well you should change channels sometimes Although not too often Otherwise it will send your head spinning again And it'll be too late to stop it That's precisely when I'd like to make it all disappear Actually Chorus] I've considered suicide a few times And I'm not proud of it Sometimes you feel it'd be the only waty to silence to them All these thoughts putting me through hell All these thoughts putting me through hell [Verse 3] You know, I've pondered the issue I really don't to know what to do with you I've considered the issue The very problem is thinking about you You know, I've pondered the issue I really don't to know what to do with you Voilà in French of he plays with words is real genius master of language as Jacques Brel etc merci .. 👍🏼🕊❣️

He had a burnout 7 years ago followed by depression. His ancestral background is Rwandan and his father died in the Rwandan genocide. His private life seems happy and he has a lot of success here in Belgium, so normally he has "no reason" to feel so bad one would think, but voilà. I have the impression he is even better than before now and hopefully he'll take things at his own pace and doesn't do too many concerts in a row. We are glad he is back.

His performance on LIVE television on the biggest TV station made so much headwind and impressions, you wouldn’t be able to reach so many people with a million dollar marketing campaign This performance targeted to the millions of French speaking people serves as an antidote to the recent comments by the president spewing division and hate about who he considers worthwhile as a citizen or not Stromae’s message is about compassion, coming together. He is the voice for the francophone, no elected person ever could come close by

Translation is very deficient: * He is NOT proud of it. * He says that he thought a lot to find a solution, but the issue was thinking itself. (With which I felt very identified). Stromae is clearly one of the best artists of the 21st century, and also carry the artist's burden. If I'm not mistaken he had his burn out when he was 29-30 years old, and we all know what happened with a lot of artists like him around that age. I'm so happy that he was able to find the strength to stay with us. We need people like him, who make us think and feel in this cold world. I'm waiting for Derek to put a Stromae's poster in the wall!
