I've found its VERY CHEAP to buy large 19 inch racks and just put your own rails in(wooden square dowels/ whatever)... lots of space per dollar. I got one with the vertical lower 12u rack in front and then a top(another 12u which i added two pieces of side rail at the top of for another 6u) that's angled back and you can adjust the angle of itup flat for mixers or just fill it with vector rails/ whatever you want. Personally id like to do one with pc/acrylic

Glue?! For a DIY case you'd be better off going the ALM route. At least it comes with a PSU and threaded rails.

I love these but I wish these things came with a standard approved power supply. I can’t shift my intentions away from the rackbrute

Shorter patch cables are awesome, some 5cm and 10cm are great lengths for the 2500

I reallllyy dislike the nuts attaching the rails that stick out on the side. Rail brackets give a cleaner look.

You wouldn’t need the glue if Strombox went with dovetail joints!! They can laser mark lines and let the users chisel cut what the laser can’t do. Like this: hackaday.io/project/170065/gallery#45fb0db64de184ae86ef4b2d0af84aef

Great video! FWIW, I just looked it up on their website, and the AC power socket that they recommend is out of stock on Amazon.

@@MoltenMusicTech well, what's not out of stock at the moment ;) if you search "IEC 320 Inlet" on amazon, you'll find other brands which fit, as long as they're this hexagon shape

When using the configurator on the Strombox website you screw the 6U on the top bolt hole of the standard stand using just the bottom bolt hole on the 6U box, and the 3U underneath which allows you to tilt both boxes as demonstrated by Robin, and this gives the skiff enough space for connecting wires. Check it out when pricing up. Excellent review Robin as always. They look fab. I'm sure I'll be interested when I fill the 9U x 84HP and 3U x 104HP spare capacity that I already have :-)

Those actually do look quite spiffy. Having a hidden drawer is a very useful idea. I would have to change those way-too-large cookie-monster hand screws on the sides though. They take away too much of the natural beauty and elegance of that lovely Wooden Design element its got. Otherwise they look VERY well done. Can only imagine how wonderful the Wood must smell~💡🦎🌌🔥🎵🐾

On my case, I made the cover semi permanent and added a recessed lip for 2 more 126 HP rows, going to use a tiptop flying buss for the lid power. Couple more months and I can start filling her up.

Grown man playing with his dollhouse... just joking, those cases look great. I guess Strom refers to the Scandinavian word 'strøm', meaning electric power.

Depends on what you want mate - do you want 1 box, 3u or 6u, do you want the stands, do you want it varnished, with rails, sliding nuts or bars? So your best bet is to check out the website and you'll be able to see exactly how the price changes depending on what you want. And I said in the video i found that it was not cheap or expensive, it seemed to be nicely in the middle.
