you need to see how the price action arrived at that level, is it forming a pattern?, is it reaching there after 3 wide red bars... etc.. what stage of the market is it currently in, how much atr is it currently up or down...reversal time?? what do the moving averages look like..what are the retracement levels of the prior touches? look at the subsequent higher highs and higher lows what do you have

A good video. However, the overall trend " MUST " be taken into consideration on these tests of support. It has been my experience with multiple support and resistance tests that they are subject to the large institutions performing " liquidity traps!" That is, a large group of sell orders hit the market at a familiar support level, only to be run up by a series of massive buy orders. The reverse is true for resistance levels. The strength of the price movement lies with the trend on higher time frames.

let me get this straight: for the second illustration that displays a downtrend. you wait for support to be broken, come back up, retest that major support level, and put your stop low on that breakout low ?
