Pretty cool. If you are to save that glass I would cover it to prevent embers from damaging it.

I love that tool. Bought my first a couple years ago and have since modified it to meet my needs. And I just made a video but haven't loaded it yet 😂 Good Job Anthony! Keeping you guys in our Prayers.

What did you do to modify it I may need an upgrade on mine. LOL

@@Tipsandtoolstuesday I'm going to re-edit the video soon and then I'll post it. The mod was more out of necessity and not earth shaking but it helped me a lot.

Yeah I welded up a lot of holes over the years I finally figured out that a butane torch and a wire solder will work for electrical work if you can find old solder with lead it's even easier

I use one of these as well as handheld versions on handles that I purchased from Amazon and then ones I made myself with scrap copper and long or bent handles to get into some of the more tricky spots, they all work great
@Tipsandtoolstuesday8 күн бұрын
Yeah all would work great I'm sure

Pretty dope tool. I will have to remember to get one if I ever run out of my weld backing tape. I didn't know that copper plate was another way of backing smaller holes.
@Tipsandtoolstuesday8 күн бұрын
That weld backing tape is pretty expensive so I've never used it but it would be fun to play with.

@@TipsandtoolstuesdayI found some cheap, basic metal stuff at the weld supply shop a few years ago and it does the job. I know that there are some really fancy expensive ones out there too but I'm not doing anything critical like pipeline or tanks, usually smaller projects and dumb ideas of mine.

Using a hard disc to grind flush ? Or softer flap disc?
@floridagunrat16258 күн бұрын
I always keep four grinders handy when I'm welding. It's easier and quicker than swapping wheels. Ones got a wire cup wheel for initial paint and rust removal, ones got a cutoff wheel, ones got a grinding disk, and one has got a flap wheel. On something like this, I knock the heavy/high spot off the weld with the grinding wheel and then feather in the finish with the flap wheel.
@Tipsandtoolstuesday8 күн бұрын
On sheet metal stuff like this I only use flap disc myself

I built one like this out of an old mag base for a dial indicator…. However this looks simpler haha
