Before you decide to try to "talk down" about Ms. Hayworth, tell us, did YOU win a medal for weightlifting when you were only 17? I didn't think you did..

I'm seconding gabeft95's comment. There's some really crass commentary left when this trailer was posted. I think I've seen the documentary, and if I remember correctly, her brother is an NFL football player. He's a lineman- one of the big guys in front of the quarterback or trying to get at him. If you're a girl who inherits the nose-tackle physique, one way to make lemonade out of that lemon (per our thin-obsessed society) is to take up weightlifting, powerlifting, or field events like shot put. You have to be very coordinated and have fast reflexes to be good at Olympic lifting, not just super-strong.

Cheryl Haworth is an amazing woman. In my opinion the most striking thing about her is her intellect. This is a HIGHLY intelligent individual. She decided to become a great olympian and achieved her goal.Obviously she is a born over achiever.I have no doubt that whatever endeavor she sets that exceptional mind to,be it professional or personal, she'll achieve that too.

Well, you guessed wrong. My comment had nothing to do with me getting offeded by stuff that don't concerne me, I don't know how you concluded that (it also appears that you got offended by his comment, but ok). I was just commenting on how certain statements appear to be "ok" in certain contexts (while they shouldn't be), that's society.

There is price to pay for everything you gain. I think we should overlook the fact that she is obese. She has a job that demands her strength, not to say she can't be strong and light but she is definitely not working to become a fitness model and that's ok. I found it to be a reminder that it's not about how you look but what you do. If after she retires chooses to put her competitive spirit into losing weight or not is her choice. Society is distorted, she is great.

I rip on my sister, random women out in bars, and even my mom sometimes because this is a male-dominated culture and it's what men do. We give them a hard time, no pun intended, and it's all in good-natured fun. But this...was beyond inspiring and most definitely a beautiful trailer to what I'm sure will be a great story.

Seriously? That's your response? Yes, he was a jerk for saying that, but that does not instantly make it ok to say "she could break you". What if this was a video about some strong bully? Then your violence promoting comment wouldn't be so popular, would it? Yes, context is importat, but in your case, it's not.

Thats not exactly accurate, it boils down to physics. More mass, generally more strength. Dont take my word for it, youtube some vids of Louie Simmons on the subject and look at some of his lifters. In lifting sports, at the highest weight classes, extra mass is an advantage.

Train like hell. You'll get there. Where? Hell? I don't get why would someone do sport which makes you ugly as f***... If you can put that much effort in weightlifting, you can probably use some of it for your weight and looks.
