Today I go over what I feel is a strong super cheap expandable solo base design. I made this layout for people in the game of rust who enjoy base building and want a good plan for the wipe.

Built the base, works like a charm. 0 raid attempts since I constantly kept expanding it. One tip that I would like to mention is to set the foundation stairs lower than higher, since if you put them on almost max height, you wont have ground space for chests. Since the foundation stairs themselves will be up on ground, not into it. :)

Hey taco, been following you for a very long time now. One thing I would love to see if trying to use actual beds in every base design. Even the small solo bases. Having just a 60 second respawn is crucial.

Isn't it one less wall if you go through the foundation on the side of the underground stairs, since you can only place walls at the end of the stairs and not on the sides?

Yeah thats why this base is really weak (2 c4 + som pickaxes) you can also make normal 2x2 its not really more safe

i suggest u find a little bag and few loot box in a rock base something extremely small that people would build several of around the world and could move and have loot spread out it should be 2 c4 in and extremely cheap , please take consideration to me it would be a sick base

I thought of this exact same base but some guys used 2 c4 on the roof then picked through the sheet metal door frame and used 2 more c4. This is why I set up many mid-sized bases in and out of an area in case of an offline raid and for revenge of course.

had trouble with door access on the stage 1 angled roof....had 2 fit double metal doors 2 ensure access. Otherwise a nice build...been thinking is there a way 2 add double walls?

Great base but one weak point : You got only door which is dangerous against door campers. I would focus on putting the second door earlier if I were you. Secondly at 11:04, I would put the door on the left in order to get more doors aka more protection against raids.

I think what might be better is instead of the chest on top of the roof behind the second door a shotgun trap is perfect in that spot.

The only problem I have with your vids is the shadier you use when doing the base tour because on mobile (and maybe PC I didn't check) it makes everything too dim to fully apperciate. Idk if I'm the only one but other than that keep up the great work and ideas

please note that if you have sheet metal doors + that jail cell door, it'll be cheaper that way to splash the rocket to the ladder hatch, and using explosive ammo

i really REALLY like this base and for the cost its outstanding, but im gonna be REALLY nit-picky and point out that its possible to raid with 2 c4, blow one of the corner walls, pickaxe the foundation and then if youre on a side with no cellar wall then youre in with only 2 c4. i know im a scumbag

Not really a scumbag at all. Although I appreciate Tacos videos, it would be nice if he really thought through them and didn't end up lying in his videos about how easy it is to raid these bases. Almost every video has comments where it takes less effort to raid than what he says.

Sorry for late notice, I do realize these easier ways to raid the bases I present. The reason why I don't point them out is simply because if I do then everyone will know how to raid the base. I get it yes, it's obvious, but a lot of people skip over simple mistakes like these. And if I point them out then every single person will now know the easy way to raid one of my bases, which makes it unfair for the people who want to use the design because of convenience.

You can make the Cell Gate to double doors to make the raiders think that its the main loot :D making them aggressive and might quit raidng u after seeing that theres a ladder hatch.

Built this. For some reason I have many problems getting out of the loot room thru the ladder hatch. The roof seems to be blocking my head and it takes a few tries to get out..

im thinking, bases like this always let people think this is a small group building and easy to raid from top, so I believe this bease will be very likely to be raided. ever if loots are underground is really unnormal, but one people star raiding, they don't normally stop before they think they've found the loot. so I truly suggest that we need to build a normal loot room in the middle of the building, this can not only waste their rockets and also saving the real loot.

Looked super cool, tried to make it and it didn't work at all for me. Even if the foundation was at it's highest I couldn't make the foundation steps as shown nor I could attach walls to the base. Funny how before main loot was usually up top or at least never on ground level but now it seems that most loot rooms are build under the foundations since twig raiding is a thing. :D

Figured it out, once you get to the top of the hatch, if you keep jumping while holding crouch you eventually get out.
