The gym can truly be life saver. I had a stroke and 2 heart attacks!! Dr told me to get a nice recliner and stay in it. Hell, that's just another way of being dead. Never been in a gym before but decided ti fix it or ---- it! Been a little over 5 years now and go every day. Don't even think about my heart now. Changed my diet completely too. I'm 78.

How did your diet change?
@jameswoodall92612 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickHutton Actually all I did was start eatiing a good diet. Less of all ;the bad crap especially sugar and any processed food. Haven't eaten out in many years. And don't miss it ast all. Now I read the labels on the food I buy to see what's actually in there. If I can't pronounce it, I don't buy it. One thing I now do is look at food as fuel only. It's not a reward for doing good things but just a product to make me go on down the road Iff I sstart feeling deprived I picture my truck complaining that it really wanted premium instead of the Wal Mart crap. Then I see how stupid I look and eat my tuna or grilled chicken. Weights dropped and all my blood tests fell right in line..

I signed on to the importance of strength- as opposed to the foolish allure of “body building” directly following a few significant life events: ie., compliance with the lockdown, a really great excuse not to do anything because we all had PERMISSION, plus I’m halfway thru my seventies with daily proof that there is less of me today than yesterday, and lastly, shoulder surgery replacement. The result of that realization has literally turned back the clock. I’m in, all in.

I'm impressed with your training. It has been very helpful. I didn't realize when I started years ago my uncle had me doing something similar to this

Ok. So you guys might have been right about switching my grip. While recovering from a groin pull i played with hook grip and alternate grip. I like hook grip but I'm missing the knuckle on my trigger finger and have a hard time getting enough purchase cause that finger is significantly shortened. Price of punching ridiculously hard. 300 for two on a pause set was my previous best deadlift using double overhand. Today, using alternating grip, i did 270, 280 and 290 for 5's without any pause or trouble. Everything felt better. Next week i will go after 300, 310, 320 or 300, 305 and 310 depending. I'm pretty confident that I'll get the 5 reps on 300 without pausing. The next two sets, idk, I've never pulled over 300. I would thank you by you insinuated that my 300lbs pull is weak and i should pull 500. Out of pure spite and hatred i will pull 500. I'm going to ignore that this proves you guys right and act like I'm proving you bastards wrong.

Based on what I've seen, most bicep tears during lifting are on the supinated side with an over-under grip on the deadlift. I'm not going to tell anyone not to do it, but I'm not a fan.
