FINALLY some respect on Franky’s name. He’s no Zoro but he took out somebody on par with a Supernova (X-Drake) in a 1 v 1. Seeing Zoro 1 shotting Supernova and Sanji mopping the floor with Page 1 (and Drake in the anime) it goes to show how damn strong the Straw Hats are getting.

so about Yamatos Fruit, I initially tough her horns were deer like too at first, but on close inspection I noticed we are missunderstanding her hair pins as horns, not to mention, Yamato naturally has horns too so the Fruits she has may not even be a creature with horns, so then what do we trully have 100% to help indentify it She has Fangs for teeth and her claw like hands like which indicates a carnivorous She looks to be of white hair/fur, this may not seem like much, but it can help narrow later on She has a fluffy tail which indicates a mammal of some kind, the only ones I can think are Wolfs and Foxes so far She has Fur which doesnt help much but interestingly some of it looks like a heavenly railment, and that I believe shows its a Mythical Zoan Lastly she has long pointy ears, which further narrow the mammals with those characteristics so with those in mind I can only think of 1 posibility, a Fox, but here is where it becomes part of discussion, see, first of, why I dont think it can be Kirin, the colors, Kirin colors are one of their main feature, a bibrant blue scales, with strong red and green fur where it is, now to the one I think it can be Inari Ōkami, the Japanese kami of foxes, fertility, rice, tea and sake, of agriculture and industry, of general prosperity and worldly succes and among the ones I searched, Inari Ōkami is one of the deities that does posses a Heavenly Railment, which honestly was my main concern while trying to find which it could possilby be but, something else that can also be, is based on a pun, because Ōkami which means Great God, can be heard as okami which means wolf, and there are wolf deities, but also do note that Amaterasu from the game Ōkami is a thing, and she is a White wolf, sooo... who knows

Deers are sometimes depicted in fairytales as being a messenger of supernatural or as being able to host them like an incarnation(from Wiki). If that is the case then it makes sense why Kaido want it so bad and why he's at Wano. He wants to meet with someone from his past and is now dead. Maybe he intended to use it to call the spirit down permanently and use the person as a sacrifice but now is unable to because he doesn't want to sacrifice Yamato. So now he wants to destroy Wano because fire festival reminds him of someone he lost. He's an adorable father and a heartbroken drunk.

He DID abandon it though for many years, the fact he returned later on was only because Roger's final voyage was completed. Had Roger not disbanded the crew following the discovery of Laugh Tale Oden might have never returned to Wano after all. Of course he would've had to eventually because of Roger's execution but that might've happened far later on had the sickness not forced him to disband the crew

Sasaki could still come back, but I can say that with all Ancient Zoans at this point. Losing the mech also shows the power and how pushed Franky was, but Sanji's comment about Queen and Sanji's Raid Suit does seem to imply that Franky's mech suit could be upgraded, Wano has been building all these weapons after all. But the damages may come back into play, the shoulder cannon, shield and docking is all broken, maybe Oda's stressing this. I hear your worry, but I think Oda's building for the crew to fight the Yonko, everyone's coming to the Performance Floor so I still think this is the final stage. We do still have to figure out how to get Luffy back to Onigashima now he's awake. I liked Yamato's form, it's a little feminine and looks a lot like Su Long but I don't think it's Byakko, I thought it was an Okami since Yamato already has the horns. Small thing: What's the bet that Zoro when he's reinvigorated will sass at Sanji for bandaging him up too much that it delayed his return to the battle? It's just something I can definitely see them bicker about.

That’s interesting to know that the Kirin likes to walk on clouds so as not to disturb the grass. I’m assuming the running theory is still that Momonosuke is going to be the one to hold up Onigashima so it doesn’t crush the citizens of the flower capital, but what if it was Yamato? I just read the official translation and I want to point out something, I don't know if someone else did. Yamato on her hybrid form has a smoke that looks like a Hagoromo veil just like Luffy's in 4th gear. This leads me to think that Yamato could also look like / be the Guardian deity of Wano old man Hyogoro mentioned. Maybe both Luffy and Yamato are a representation of the Nio Guardians and will fight Kaido together since he is the evil that has to be defeated for Wano to be free. I also did like to mention that Yamato may have a white tiger (Mythical?) DF. To also refer to the Dragon vs Tiger theme.

Personally, I think everyone is forgetting the durability of the zoan fruits. We are getting all of these Strawhat clean victories with relative ease. When Nami and Usopp were "done" with their fights they were complaining that Page 1 and Ulti would not stay down no matter how many times they fell. Look at Ulti in general she got up from Yamato knocking her out, Nami knocking her down multiple times, and getting Big Mommed. I think the flying 6 are going to get back up and make this a much closer fight for the strawhats after they are all "defeated" once.

Assuming Oda doesn't want to introduce more players, the next downturn could be the realization that all of the Flying Six have awakened devil fruits, and that will allow them to get back into the fight at pretty much 100% power soon after being "defeated". Although Jack didn't seem to recover all that fast after the rooftop battle, so who knows.

i don't know about the flying six, but i could see king awakening. he's kaido's strongest. his zoan transformation was shown really early on too, so even though we haven't seen his hybrid form, another form could happen too. there's still a lot of build-up with him. i can see the flying six getting up again for story reasons, but i think their main role as enemy combatants is playing out right now. i think a few more strong players are bound to show up.

Practically all off the Straw Hats, minus Luffy, Jinbe, Robin, and Brook, are now back on the Live Floor. So putting all of them back together probably means something big is coming. I personally think, as you said, Big Mom (and Perospero) has kind of been forgotten. And don't forget, BM deliberately told Kaido to make sure not to kill Robin. I would expect that to be relevant before too long. I'm not too fond of another rescue mission, but Robin's importance cannot be forgotten, and BM knows this. BM herself, or Perospero under her orders, goes after Robin after Kaido is dealt with, or BM just says screw it and betrays Kaido.

Thanks for your input on Yamato’s fruit, JB. I like your theory of Yamato inheriting Oden’s fruit. I want to say that the reason the fruits are called “Devil’s Fruit” is because someone had to trade their soul to create the fruit. Perhaps there were multiple sides in a struggle at some point in time. Whoever infused their soul with said item must have passed on their will along with their soul. That could explain why people inherit each other’s souls - perhaps why Shanks brought the rubber fruit to East Blue and did not intend for Luffy to have the fruit. It was probably meant for Ace, in retrospect of Roger’s comments about his son carrying on his will. Anyway, I don’t want to ramble on too much more. Like you, I feel I have said enough to allow anyone else to come up with their own spin on this theory. Thanks, JB!

The Kirin only punish the wicked according to Taoist teachings, Oda pulled a nice trick once again. I wonde how Japanese readers familiar with the mythology read this. I can see Yamato traveling with the Straw Hats now and ending up fighting Catarina Devon. Notice also how Franki cared for the Armored Unit way more then Sasaki did. It shows again how with the Beast Pirates the top dogs don't see their crew mates as any kind of friends, just as expendable canon fodder (remember Queen). And as you pointed out Joyboy we get to see some wins but I fear all the red scabbards will die, Kin`emon even said so much in chapter 976 ( he used up a life's worth of luck).

I think Oda is deliberately shortening fights or off-screening them because the anime is catching up to the manga. By doing that, the anime can expand on the fights in the direction Oda sets them in. Apart from the monster trio main battles, he'll probably keep things short. Edit: *this is evident with how Oden vs Kaido(clash), Bigmom vs Kaido(clash), Roger vs Whitebeard(clash), Toki's death and the Scabbards development from the flashbacks among others.*

Not only that I'd assume but also because of the pacing. With that many characters running around, giving each and everyone of them a two-chapter-battle will stretch out the story far too much in my opinion. Fights like Who's-Who VS Jinbe and Sasaki VS Franky felt wonderful, fast paced and gave everything we need to see. The anime can (and definitely will) expand them, which will probably be nice but honestly, fights in One Piece aren't even the main focus and I'm more than OK with shortening them down a bit to keep the pacing in ballance. As for the thing that might turn the war: we still don't know what Big Mom's crew is doing and their potential appearance on the battlefield will without a doubt change the tides.

I agree we are about 10 months difference between manga and anime good enough at least it won't be two years before we see most of these fights in the anime like naruto was with so much filler before the story caught up like to avoid that here. We are getting two chapters every month so far with oda taking a break the other two weeks.

@@sora6748 my theory is that Marco brought at least a crew of the WB pirates to hold the bigmom pirates off below the waterfall. When Neko went to bring him to Wano, he said he'd be a bit late, and don't forget Izo is here too. Every division commander had their own crew back then. If kicking them off didn't stop them from going back up when King did it, why is it that they are not yet back up when Marco did the same thing? He said, it will be over before you even get back up, with a smile on his face... it's safe to assume, he was sure they would be kept busy. Either by marines that Marco passed by on his way, maybe Fujitora, or his own crew made up of strong commanders like Jozu and Vista.

just an idea: - about changing forms and body mastery, we've seen these in Water 7 a lot, where even Kumadori, who fights Chopper, knows how to do this and he's not s DF user. he uses his hair to attack, grapple and eats tons of food and digests almost instantly...this is Seimei Kikan, or Life Return or as Chopper calls it Biofeedback. I can't believe people aren't taking more about it, they take it as a pun or a joke because Luffy does it when he eats a lot, Kid showed us as well, and I really think that it's an extremely important detail everyone's missing. even Zoro kinda uses it when he uses Ichi/Ni Gorilla. I think it's gonna be important for their last or next to last power ups, especially considering Luffy's Gear Fourth different forms.

I think that all or most of the flying six having awakened zoans would be the big shift you were looking for. It seems a little weird for the flying six fights to be such small insignificant moments in the overall story. If this continues as it has been Wano will be very forgettable for the minor characters.

No. Wano isn’t about the tobiroppo and the likes of Franky. It’s about Kaido and his commanders and the freedom of the land. Also people underestimate the strawhats too much. People think only Luffy, Zoro and maybe Sanji are strong. The truth is, all Strawhats are very strong except of the 3 weaklings. Page 1 wasn’t at Sanji’s level yet, he got defeated by a Yonko. Ulti is strong and got defeated by a Yonko too. Drake is strong but he’s an ally right now. Whoiswho is strong but not as strong as Jinbei. Not even close. Sasaki might be strong but he is at Brook and Franky’s level. Robin is probably as strong as Black Maria it even stronger so she will lose kinda fast too. Again, all the above tobiroppo will be destroy by Luffy or Zoro…

The smile fruits have dangerous side effects as well we don't know about. the smile are created fruit its like a copy of the original fruit, and you can only make so many copies before it becomes troublesome.

Ig this chapter was just showing what franky is lacking off, it seemed like he will get a new shaped battle franky(with a lil sea stone cuz this is wano), he could get a graded sword for battle franky and maybe learns the basics of Haki to keep the sword in good shape. Also a samurai could teach him one or two sword skills(maybe zoro himself, Franky could get a flashback on the fight between zoro and ryuma and then ask him for the move back then I cant recall the name something with dragon ithink).
