@@idrilzorc8789 He's bigger than the Hitokiri which can mean longer reach, with the fact that his axe is actually longer than hers as well. His large size would also mean heavier body weight which is taken into consideration for how hard he can swing his axe. His axe is also more versatile with a blunt back for dealing with armored opponents. With the Shinobi, Metatron already said that dual wielders will be penalized due to how finicky dual wielding can be. He also pointed out that the weapons that the shinobi used were probably not too effective as actual combat weapons because they aren't official battlefield implements, not to mention how awkward it must be to actually use efficiently. The raider is at that ranking because of his reach advantage compared to the ones before him, the natural strength that comes from being big and heavily built, the versatility of his weapon for different enemy types, and unlike someone like the hitokiri or shinobi, he actually has a decent helmet protecting him. He might have less body armor than both, but then those two are mostly wearing just clothing anyway, so not really that effective in protection. He's behind the Orochi for the simple reason that he's actually completely covered in armor.

Strength doesn't mean anything when your stomach sliced and your insides out. Sickle is an awful combat weapon but it can totally do that, if it can reach it. Nevertheless raider def didnt deserve that ranking. For exp nobushi could easily take him out, jiang jung would wipe the floor with him.

@@idrilzorc8789 I'm assuming that the list is based on the assumption that all warriors here are of more or less the same level of martial expertise in their respective roles in battle. Yes, cutting weapons would be effective on someone like the Raider, but like you said, only if you are ABLE TO REACH him. Just like what Metatron said, big doesn't always mean slow. The raider with his big size and long weapon will probably have no problems dealing with the shinobi by keeping at a relatively safe distance, assuming equal levels of experience in combat. The assumption is that either combatants are familiar on how to deal with their enemy type, so the shinobi would have an idea on what to do against bigger opponents and the raider will presumably have experience fighting opponents smaller than him (cuz everyone he fights are likely smaller than him anyway lel). With regards to Nobushi, they're both wielding weapons of similar lengths, but assuming that they both have a fair grasp on how to utilize such weapons, the Raider will likely be able to outreach her because of his massive size and arms length as well as hit harder due to his strength and weight. Armor-wise, she only has the advantage of clothing, and that doesn't count for much when you're facing someone with a dane axe. Assuming comparable levels of martial expertise, the Raider has the advantage over the Nobushi. The discussion on JJ vs Raider is sketchy. On one hand, JJ is definitely better equipped, but like it was said, his age will be taken into consideration. In this instance, we can assume that JJ is likely to be more well-versed in fighting compared to the Raider since he has likely decades worth of fighting experience over the Raider. Weapons are again of comparable length, with the Dane Axe being a bit more versatile with the blunt back which can be effective against the well-armored JJ. The age of the JJ will ultimately be the deciding factor, so unless the JJ has enough martial prowess to overcome these and fight with an advantage, this fight becomes sort of a draw. However, taking into account that the Raider will do well against the Warlord and that the Warlord is stronger than JJ, then by process of deduction, Raider would have a minor advantage over JJ. To illustrate: Since JJ < Warlord and Warlord < Raider, then JJ < Raider.

To people who have never played For Honor before or don't know about the lore, keep in mind that this game takes place in a post apocalyptic medieval world with very scarce resources (that's why Knights, Samurai, and Vikings are in the same region fighting each other in the same region). Love it or hate it, there's no game that's quite like For Honor that I've seen. It's unique fighting system feels pretty good (Aside from the times you get Custscened by a Centurion or a Kensei dodges right through your battleaxe c:). I was thinking the same thing. I have a hard time believing that that centurian, with no range, no shield, could beat the shugoki, mostly cause shugo has range, anti armor weapon, and is still somewhat armored himself. Shugo is by no means the greatest warrior on the list, but I think against a Cent, he'd have a pretty good chance

I'm more offended by the fact he underestimates the agility Centurion has in his full set of armor, being able to leap forwards strong enough to pierce any and all armor with his gladius, not to mention high enough with his dash attack. Also underestimating his strength, being able to parry shugoki's goddamn DIY warhammer and still be agile enough to quickly grab him and shove a knee up into his stomach.

Great list as always, Metatron. And I'm glad Black Prior made it into the Top 5. Him and Warden would probably be my mains in this game. I do have one small complaint about this video. You call Black Prior's weapon an Arming Sword, when it's actually not. If you look at the length of its handle, it's actually more of a Bastard Sword, which is honestly my personal favorite variant of Cruciform Sword in real life.

Jiang Jun is based on Guan Yu, and Guan Yu was a real badass general they called him the God of War for some reason. He and his brother Zhang Fei were the best warriors during the Three Kingdoms era, but, there was one even better, that was Lu Bu and both Zhang Fei and Guan Yu fought against him at the same time and could not make him back down not until their third brother joined the fight is where Lu Bu finally retreated. For me, Jiang Jun should be at least top 5 and if Lu Bu was in game he would be No1 for sure.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a new list that has the heroes equipped with the best versions of their armor and weapons (based on your expertise and tastes, of course). For example, the new Wu Lin hero would probably rank around 15 or so because of his basic gear lacking real protection, but there is a version of him that gives him excellent scale armor that would probably bump him past Highlander.

It really is used in combat. The guan dao was copied by the Japanese who makes the naginata a slim and more longer polearm curved blade. The guan dao would've been used not in that oversized looking in game but almost abit..... its hard to explain I know this one movie that Donnie yen was in he used it. You'd be surprised that polearms aren't that heavy. It's supposed to be long staff with a blade on one end. It's made to be versatile even if it looks heavy it can be used.

A knight is trained from his 7th year to fight, he is fully armored, agile and packs a punch and most importantly *he is aware of weakspots in his armors and could bait you into risky attacks at them* European knights where the best medieval elite unit, because Europe was at constant war throught centuries, thus they invented the best weapons and protection around.

What he's wielding, though called a Claymore in game, is most definitely not actually a claymore. Real claymores are sized more like an upscaled bastard sword, while they gave Highlander a zweihander in-disguise. Thanks to it not actually lining up with any actual sword, though, just calling it a Scottish greatsword is appropriate.

The reason why Highlanders sword is so big is because as far as i know it's a special greatsword called a claymore. The conqueror uses a Flail because he is probably based on criminals that were enlisted during crusades, they used flails, axes and hammers because they required less skill to use than a sword
