It is good seeing dads spend time with their boys having fun while teaching. Derek from Vice Grip Garage just did a series where he and his boy took a trip on route 66. They took the trip in an old Chevy C30 he bought and along the way they changed the upholstery, did engine work, and other things I can't remember at the moment. All this while checking out cool route 66 stops. This reminds me of when I was a child with my dad. We would go on train trips though because we both love trains. We went on trans Siberian, the Hiram Bingham to Maccu Picchu orient express, LA to NY, the Pacific coast rail through Canada and most recently we took many trains through India and Nepal. Great times I will never forget and still planning trips with me at 30 years it age and he was 60

Tim, I don't expect to change your mind and you're a big boy and can do what you want but in over two decades of being a firefighter and extrication technician I can't say I've seen an incident where a seat belt made things worse on the road. From incidents on country roads to interstates and vehicles of all sizes, the only place it actually might have been better was off road on a steep stone pile in a quarry with the bed up. They may not have been enough to prevent all tragedy but I've never seen a seat belt that made things worse and I have seen countless times where it could have saved people. Seatbelt cutters are cheap and usually have a window punch as well which can be far more crucial to escaping a wreck than getting out of the seat belt. I know everyone has heard of some person who supposedly was saved by not wearing one, its a legend that goes back to the day after the first seat belt was installed, but you'd get better odds on half blind pack mule winning the Kentucky Derby. You can and will do as you like, its your prerogative and I wouldn't suggest otherwise but my humble and honest advice is that its truly the best in the end.

Tim come on man " you're telling your 9 year old son about your highschool sweetheart, and preaching to him about how you don't fallow safety rules of the highway! I've been working tractor and trailer wreaks, and everything else with wheels on it since I was Braxton's age. My family opened up one of the first towing Companies in Chattanooga Tennessee, and I promise you that seat belts save lives. The thing about working with your 9 year old son, is remembering that you are working with your 9 year old son, and not one of your regular employees who are old enough to understand what you are talking about. This was one of the main reasons why, I didn't take my son to work on one of my jobs with me until he was 17 years old.
@trey54702 жыл бұрын
Yea that shit is ignorant. The kid is like 8 years old, my dad wouldn't let me get on a roof with him until I was old enough to understand how to properly tie myself off and use the safety equipment the way it's intended to be used, along with proper knowledge of power tools and the chemicals I was working with. I couldn't imagine letting my kid that's still in elementary school drive around in a truck and preach absolute bullshit about seat belts killing people. All of us that grew up in the country heard that same tired ass lie and we all have friends that we've lost because they believed it and got thrown from the vehicle. I try not to judge other peoples parenting because I'm not the perfect dad myself, but when he's not only telling this stuff to his kid, but all the kids that watch his channel because they think trucks are cool, it's only right to chime in with common sense.

A friend of mine was in a tanker truck stalled on a train track just east of Houston back in the early 1980's that was hit by a train. The crossing was just after a curve in the track and did not see the train coming till the last minute he was not wearing his seat belt and was able to get out and just get clear of the truck he said if he had the seat belt on would may not have been able to get away soon enough and would have died right there

Your channel has taught me a lot about big trucks over the past year or so, it’s been my passion since I was probably 3 years old, had a couple old cabovers toy trucks and stuff and I swear they were bout the only thing I played with. Chances of being killed or seriously injured because you were belted in is phenomenally smaller than the other way around. You get ejected out your rig and it rolls on top of you you are done. Not sure about big rig cabs but being belted inside a car is way safer than bouncing around in it or thrown out onto the road. If you are going to roll the dice go with the odds. Belt up.

Seat belts save way more lives than they take ,Tim! Your argument has been debunked a long, long time ago. Besides you need to set a good example for your son. In most States it is the law anyway, especially for minors. The fine in my State, for failure to wear a seat belt is over $300. If you get caught texting or talking on your cell phone in my State, you can be arrested. They are not messing around here. Great video!

Understand your feelings about seatbelts. A pain in the ass but I put up with them because I look at the numbers. For every person know or heard of that was harmed by a seatbelt there are thousands that are saved, so much so that it creates a shortage of transplantable organs. People wearing seatbelts survive death dealing head injuries and therefore removing good quality organs from transplant use. I wear mine because of my need to stay with my family. I am blessed to have survived multiple death dealing events. God keeps me around for some reason but when he says now is the time, I’m ready. Seatbelts, on or off, won’t change that. Do what is right for you and yours. God bless and keep up the wonderful trucking/family content.👍🏽👍🏽🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️

I believe mine has the 11.1 Detroit. Having a trailer that extends/stretches is quite handy! Why did you sell it? Just to clear up things, would you talk about your business plans again…how many trucks you currently have, etc. It seems that you’re finding the industry a little unstable right now & so you’re scaling back a bit. I’m still hoping to get into it a bit, but I’m waiting to have my truck Rock N Roll Ready. Would be nice to hear your view of things. Take care. Blessings! 🥰🤩✌️
