I just watched the reactions of the actors watching the scene of Jeff Ward as Buggy, and one of the actors i think Taz asked emily and inaki on how did they shoot this and emily said it was ridiculous and applauded Jeff Ward because she said it was his imagination on how to do it that it actually works...i bet Oda saw it too...i just wish they will release their audition tapes and Oda's reaction in choosing him...

It's not changing,Oda's initial plan was to include it in the manga but it didn't happen because he have editor,but yeah maybe some of them is just original for oda to live action, for example Mr 7, Oda only showed the illustrations on SBS, if they make it 100% like the manga, what's the point of watching it again? just want to see the actor's acting?

@@CrossriderBankai23It's not because Netflix faltered, it's because they ONLY had 8 episodes to work with and needed to get the important plots and character development of the "East Blue" story so that anybody who wasn't familiar with the manga or anime could be introduced to everyone in this season. If they had dragged it out longer and this adaptation did not do well, then we would probably not have got a second season. Just be thankful that Oda was directly involved and that the screen writers and show execs are all fans of the source material.

So it's a really interesting question as to why Shanks is in the East Blue at this time. Even if maybe he wasn't an Emperor at this time he is still too good to be here. One interesting theory now that we know more of the Gum Gum fruit is my personnal favorite: he was looking to Roger succesor to give him the fruit, namely Ace (remember roger said that his kid will find the one piece). That also explain why he leave after Luffy eat the fruit, now it's to Luffy to bring the dawn of the world.

Here's my theory, I've been saying for a couple of years now that The East Blue is, in fact, the strongest ocean or used to be the strongest ocean back in the day. Just think about almost every top-tier pirate came from there: Roger, Garp, Dragon, Ace, Sabo, Zoro, maybe others who still haven't been revealed.

makes sense, the navy thought that ace was rogers succesor, and some whitebeard pirates also. i would imagine shanks had the same theory about ace. But whitebeard was right, whitebeard also saw that luffy inherited the will, and he reflects on why the navy failed to kill rogers successor. the one piece is real. awesome theory.

Buggy is so good! I love that they played him like the Joker. And that he had a literal captive audience. Honestly the most engaging part of the entire season to me is that we are following Koby because it really is the newest material. Garp is also a standout to me. I love the way they did Luffy's backstory with Shanks and the Lord of the Coast. We even see him use Haki! I am sad they didn't keep Shanks' “You’re putting your life on the line by pointing that at me" quote though. I always thought that was the most badass line. And pretty integral to the way Shanks lives his life. I love that each episode's title screen is a different Jolly Roger!

1:20 - Shanks was on east blue because he thought ace was a Joy Boy and go there to give the nika fruits to ace. But fate showed that Joy Boy was Luffy when he ate the fruit. So Shanks left back to the new world. This is my teory

The thing is, when it comes to the mega big bouties, there is not really anyone who can even collect it. Most the ones strong enough to challenge them either have a bounty themselves, or are in the navy and cant collect it. So the incentive to actualy try putting your life on the line to take him down just isnt there. The massive bounties are actually counter intuitive.

The lake monster in fusha village is not a neptunian / sea king. Sea kings are of unfathomable size and strength. The going merry looked like a speck on the nose of one in the calm belt. I just get slightly bugged when I hear folks call such a small sea beast a neptunian

Love how people say that the East Blue is one of the weaker seas. Gol D. Roger, Rayleigh, Luffy and Zoro are all from the East Blue. Just to name a few. Shiki said that it was the weakest sea and targeted it because that was where Gol D. Roger was from. Roger was the one that defeated and captured Shiki. It was another point at how Luffy and Roger are similar. Another point lol They met Buggy when Nami handed him over in the anime. She fake joined the Buggy Pirates to steal the map from Buggy who had already stolen it from Morgan and left his mark as a joke and brag.

The gas scene never happened in the anime. Also buggy did tell luffy he was on the same crew as shanks but it wasnt until shanks and whitebeard meet up that we find out they were on roger's ship.
