I have a local builder taken to doing large paving jobs, you want to see how little cement is in the mix! It crumbles back to sand in your hand then he refuses to go back after being paid.

Are you finding it is more expensive with it being bagged for them? Hope that you are both well and got plenty of work booked in. I'm having to put right a job done by a fencing contractor today (metpost straight through a 4" drain) Seems to be the story of my life going and putting right

@@anthonyhoult152 The bags of cement are a European standard, 25kg (used to be 100wt) and have to show the makers name and other information such as manufacturing date. The difference in price between the same standard of cement from different manufacturers is pennies.

Google on your bricks: "Lathom Brick was started the brickworks was on the site of the former Blaguegate Colliery in around 1935 by Ralph Platt Barker better known as Ray Barker and his brother-in-law Tom Elston as works Engineer. John Williams joined them in 1936 as Sales Manager later becoming Sales Director until when he retired in 1972 The Dalton works in Lees Lane was built in 1948/49. They stopped making pressed bricks in the mid 1960's and went to making wirecut bricks until it closed in 1975." Fascinating stuff. Your bricks must be from the 60's or older I guess.

I hope you guys are wearing proper respirators with P100 particles silica dust grade cartridges. Lung cancer and silicosis are no joke and would be a real shame at a young game or any age. Really hope you guys are adamant about significantly reducing the chance on inhalation. Air blowers work great too. Respectfully, from Canada. Love watching brickys being one myself.
