1st apparent dip: 16, 175
2nd apparent dip: 22, 048
How to determine strike and dip of a plane from two apparent dips, using a stereonet (Schmidt, equal-area net).
Hemisphere model is used at 03:18.
This video employs what I refer to as the “American right-arm rule” for strike and dip of planes; looking to the strike direction, the plane dips in the direction of the observer’s right arm. This is very different from the traditional “British right-hand rule”.
This video was produced during the fall of 2020, at the heart of COVID, as part of my effort to teach structural geology online.
