studying biotech at university and this was quite nice to just zoom out a bit and remember the funktion of everything

@@lolloll8237 Lots of different things, remember the covid virus? biotechnology was used to create the vaccines. Generally lots of pharmaceutical companies uses biotech in some form. Also i could find work looking for new anti biotics or mapping out which bacteria is present in different places and what function they have. this could be looking for bacteria in dirt or volcanoes but it could also be trying to figure out our gut microbiome and how that effect us. Also waster water treatment plants uses plenty of microbes to treat to water to make it safe to release to the environment and keeping all these bacteria alive and in balance is quite a huge task. (you want to avoid bad bacteria which courses issues while keeping the good bacteria around. Food industries could also be a candidate, like creating lab grown meat and trying to mimic real meat, or developing new protiens sources from waste products. for example when making milk your a left with this Whey which contains lots of interesting compounds so companies are trying to extract as much protein from it or look for proteins which may have a use in other part of the industry. producing bioplastic or using bactericide to degrade plastics from fosil fuels could also be an option But really you could work many places!
