On March 4th, 2017, Stockton Firefighters responded to a 2nd Alarm Structure Fire in the 0 block of West Acacia. Fire Crews arrived on scene to heavy smoke from the second story of a two story, multi-family home. Firefighters encountered reinforced doors, slowing forcible entry and delaying fire attack.
Like many abandoned or foreclosed structures in the City, all windows and doors are boarded up. These structures are boarded up in an attempt to keep vagrants and squatters from trespassing and staying in the house. Though the doors (like in this video) are heavily reinforced, squatters can still gain access through windows or the basement... Firefighters however must still enter through these doorways to ensure best egress if they need to get out. Delayed entry requires firefighters to knockdown part of the second story before committing to an interior attack.
Due to requests for a third hoseline in the structure and holes in the floor of the second story, a 2nd Alarm is requested during the firefighter. Firefighters are otherwise able to extinguish the fire within minutes of gaining access to the building.
Every time Stockton Firefighter entry a burning structure, we risk our personal safety in order to possibly save life inside. We are proud to serve and protect the citizens and City of Stockton, California.

This is the best performance by a fire department and the best audio and video presentation of a fire scene I've seen in the two years I've been watching KZbin

Was this professionally produced by the fire department? If not, it is a great unpaid presentation with real time radio traffic and explanation subtitles. I'll subscribe. No KZbin firefighters comments on how to do it right. How refreshing.

THIS is the kind of videos i love seeing, not only the efforts being preformed but a commentary of why they are doing what they are doing. I often find myself sitting and scratching my head cause i don't know whats going on so its nice to see the why along with the physical efforts

I watch tons of firefighting videos on KZbin, and this is one of my favorite channels. I am blown away by every video. The way these firefighters perform is phenomenal. If I’m in trouble, I want these guys coming after me. Every time they give it their all. And their system is great.

As soon as they got the front door open that alfa-bravo bedroom flashed. They gave it the oxygen it needed. Could have done a transitional attack on that room while forcing the door.

What does "filling" mean? "Engine 13 is assigned to fill at Company 9 in the heart of the City"

I wonder about these home owners. It's a second time for a fire and making it difficult for the fire fighters to gain entry.

Tad late, but am I crazy in thinking that perhaps some cross-training with the guard or a military group that uses explosives for entry might save considerable time on these? I've seen a fair number of videos now where they have significant difficulty entering because of these boarded up type entrances. A small detcord shot in the hands of a skilled demolitionist could have probably opened that door in under a minute with a pre-prepared charge, and would likely cause very little more damage than the necessary use of chainsaws and other heavy cutting gear to effect entry. Maybe too dangerous to try to control with that many firefighters around?

With the inferno raging inside ( 1:30 ) the tightly boarded-up structure, at 2:20 , you could see how the fire and hot gasses had quickly traveled through the walls up to the second floor while the firemen were attempting to break through to the first.. Sad...It looked like a nice residential property at one time...Now with two burns to its name (according to the captions), the structure will more than likely be torn down...

To be fair, 1 victom did exit who was obviously squatting. Sometimes you have to get that primary done on an abondoned building, tough call. Great job as usual, if I had to pick I'd say that seccond alarm should have gone out sooner
