Happy to help! Honestly for me, the only downside is the high cost (which is a big downside).. but the structure of the program itself is amazing and I can’t complain!
@nedbass12 жыл бұрын
Hope you didn’t make a decision yet. Go to Capella! Dirt cheap! Tuition is 3250 if you have all your prereqs, and if you don’t, you can take them with capella for free. They charge you 3250 every 12 weeks. That’s 3 months! No exams, no discussion posts, no quizzes, all you’re doing is writing papers. It’s 4 papers per class, and there are 8 classes (for BSN that is). In one week I did two classes.

The late thing is amazing because In my program they don’t care at all under no circumstances can you turn in late work even if you had a family emergency or death in the family. It’s crazy.
@theluckienurse Жыл бұрын
That is so ridiculous to me… In general, not just with grades but with everything, leniency totally depends on the professor. Some professors are very understanding, while others are not. The reality is that most of us, especially those of us that are older going back to school, have other obligations aside from just nursing school and life does happen. And in the real world or you can take sick leave, take time off, or ask for an extension… It never made sense to me why some nursing programs are unreasonably rigid!

Hiii, I'm new to your channel came across your video after searching BSN programs and its interesting that the school does not require pre req I will definitely look into this school im currently attending TWU nursing but taking all these pre reqs smh
@theluckienurse2 жыл бұрын
Hey! The program doesn't require pre-reqs for acceptance, but it does require them for graduation. So you can enter in with all of your pre-reqs completed, or you can complete them in the program. If you are still doing pre-reqs in your program and you transfer to Chamberlain, you will probably still have to complete more pre-reqs before clinicals.
@l33_generic372 жыл бұрын
Hi! Just a quick correction. Im in clinicals right now and still taking other classes. You only can take one class WITH a clinical at a time. So if you have a clinical class and, say, nutrition, you can take them simultaneously. :)

Do you recall if you had to do testing your first weeks? Like if you had a teacher that gave a first day or first week quiz/test
@theluckienurse Жыл бұрын
Hey! So it depends on the course. Once you get to your nursing classes, you have a medical calculation exam that you have to take the very first day of class in every single nursing course. If you don’t pass the exam on that first day, you have to go through more remediation and take it again. You cannot continue in the class if you cannot continue in the class if you can’t pass the med calc exam. Before you get to the nursing classes, when you were just taking Gen Ed courses, you will not have a test the first day or first week of class.
@jenrn1202 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the insight! Are the classes virtual evenings or weekends?
@theluckienurse2 жыл бұрын
Hey they are a combination of the three for the program I’m doing! There is a day program where there are classes only during weekdays, but with the evening and weekend option you do have a combo of virtual and in person night and weekend classes.
@itspaige29112 жыл бұрын
Did you complete prerequisites before this? Or during the program..?
@theluckienurse2 жыл бұрын
I did not complete all of my pre-reqs before the program. I knocked out a bunch (chemistry, A&P 1, statistics, a bunch of gen eds…) but I still have some to take before getting to nursing courses/ clinicals. I have to do A&P II, bio and some random gen eds while in the program.

This was a great informational video! I was told that Chamberlain doesn't need pre-requisites. I am guessing for the campus I am going to. I don't think it is for all campuses but I could be wrong. Also for the evening class, do you go in every day or you are strictly online? That is awesome to know! Thank you!
@theluckienurse2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for your comment! You don’t need to have any pre reqs completed to be accepted at Chamberlain. People like to enter in with credits because you can finish the program a little faster that way and save money… but it’s not required! And in person/virtual depends on the campus. My campus has a bit of a hybrid. Some gen education courses are solely online, while others are solely in person. And all nursing courses are in person I believe. I just took a political science class which was 100% online and Anatomy and Physiology which was 100% in person two nights a week

@theluckienurse Жыл бұрын
The discussions are just a paragraph… There are two types of discussions at Chamberlain… One is an actual discussion, where you will need to find scholarly, peer reviewed sources to cite. Then there’s something called community café, which just requires a couple of sentences with no citations!

If you fail out of a different nursing school, and apply to chamberlain does the courses you took in that nursing school count as prerequisites?

Hey so every session is different. This session I don’t have any classes that have set meeting times, so I get assignments every Monday and just have to submit everything by Sunday night. Last session I only had one class with a meeting time and that was just one weeknight a week for 4 hours (every Wednesday from 6 - 9:50 PM). Next session I will have one class that requires me to go to campus two nights a week (every Thursday and Friday). Hopefully that helps!

Can you sign up and then after finishing and I have a few more credits then can I then get re-assessment of my transcripts
@theluckienurse2 жыл бұрын
Hey! So, you can get a transcript evaluation and then take more credits at another university and get another transcript evaluation later.. But if you are accepted into the program, once you start classes Chamberlain will not accept any credits from another university. Hopefully that answers your question!
@vyeronj.5979 Жыл бұрын
Hi I have a question, you mentioned that Chamberlain accepts credits from any accredited institution. You said that it wont affect your GPA? Can you elaborate more on this? Cause my biggest worry is my current GPA, which is VERY LOW. Im currently attending a community college, and have been considering transferring to Chamberlain sometime within the next few months. Also last question: Is the lecture part of the classes online or in-person?
@theluckienurse Жыл бұрын
Hey so I transferred in with credits… but when I started at a Chamberlain, my GPA was non-existent. So after my first session at Chamberlain, I made all A’s and my overall GPA was a 4.0… so your credits transfer but your GPA does not.
@theluckienurse Жыл бұрын
Also, I’m regards to lecture it depends on the campus and the class. Lectures on my campus are back to being in person… some classes require you to go to campus each class, some classes are totally virtual, and some classes have lectures online but you have to come to campus to take exams. Hope that helps!
