I really like her conviction and how she demands respect. She has standards for how she wants to live life and be treated, and doesn’t compromise on them. Especially now knowing her and Andy were so close for several months and the type of charming (but maybe immature) man he was, but she didn’t compromise or get swept away. It’s difficult what they both went through to achieve the quality of the relationship they have and it’s quite inspiring

@ joansbeef4035 Young marriage like theirs will have to stand through many iterations of evolution, sometimes in a way no one can predict (especially under the spotlight on KZbin). But I see a maturity underneath the youthful demeanour that’s quite rare. Strong values from their upbringing and life experiences plus hard work, determination and trust in each other I think means they’re more than capable of weathering storms together and ultimately knowing what’s important.

Your father is a smart man -- i would listen. Most people (men & women) don't mature mentally and/or emotionally until 25 at least but late 20s is more accurate. of course there are exceptions to this. Andy and Michelle, are great examples of this. But you also have to follow your gut and natural instincts when you do find someone. ensure they follow your boundaries, bring out the best in you, appreciate what you do and the relationship overall doesn't change you for worse.

I met a guy who never dated when I was 24 and he was 27. We broke up a year later. 😢it wasn't meant to be - he thought making all the money he can possibly make by overtime to the max would get him to a more comfortable lifestyle later and even going out on dates was a struggle. He may seem mature with money but to the point where it's immature when you have a significant other. Then he dumped me when things got hard and his depression manifested.

I think this is amazing that someone can come into the life of an f-boy and through personality and compatibility change his perspective on dating/relationship/marriage. From what I've seen, f-boys stay that way for a long time till they feel "old" enough to settle. And some don't even settle. I feel with the fighting it does generally hit hard around 2 years and so why most relationships end around that time. And if you get through it then it'll make ur relationship stronger. Happened to my and my husband. For us, we are both Christians and that helped us get through it And then around 2.75 years we got engaged and then got married 8 months after that

I guess it is really reassuring to know what im looking for in a partner is realistic. 1:20:20 such important topics - assertive communication - not aggression gets people to listen. Yelling is kind of triggering for me cos my parent’s had a similar communication style. The yelling, passive aggression, lack of communication (it seems from the outside anyway. I dont see everything ofc). I just feel so crap being part of it, cos they can interact with me like that too so i really worked at learning what healthy communication looks like and practising that cos my mental health was plummeting at a certain stage.
