That grout will match the bag color when it dries. Give it 24 hrs to dry completely and it will be SOOOO much lighter than when you first mixed it.

Flood proof is hard in those mountains. I've seen hurricanes raise rivers by 40ft in puerto rico and move boulders the size of houses down stream.

If you intend to build a house you have to dig a lot of ditches to divert the water away. If you are going to build a house, you need to make strong steel and concrete foundations for it. Another option is the so-called Thai house built on stilts due to floods.

Hey guys! Top off the front porch with a small roof over the entrance. If it's raining and you have a guest at the door, it will make it feel more finished and dry. I liked the original bamboo chicken coop roof style..

Concrete companies use tint to make regular concrete different colors. You could get some tint and mix your own color into a light color grout. 😁 💖 👍 The tile is very nice.

Hi Matt, so snap chalk lines center of your work both directions then snap one line at a 45' angle to start your herringbone. If you stat from center out it should provide equal cut at the end. Just incase you run into this in the future.

The herringbone pattern is perfect you made it look easy ...all that layout & lots cuts isn't easy . Your right get a grout that is a close match , remember white grout will get dirty looking fast . Off white grout Good .

Trust me Matt and Kirsten, you don't want monkeys hanging around. They destroy every thing they can get ahold of. They'll rip the roof off if it's not metal. I've been following a group in Cambodia and Vietnam and they are overrun and steal food and are destructive.DON'T let their cuteness fool you. You'll regret it. Research how to keep them away. on the grout: a cream with a slight reddish/brown tint would blend well with the different shades of the tiles. By the way: you are too critical of yourself, great job on the tiles!

Dark brown grout! That’s what it going to be in a few years unless You’re out there scrubbing it every week. White and light color grout is ok on walls where you don’t have traffic.

For the river surfing, a kiteboard harness would make it a lot more comfortable on your back. Just hook the tree rope under the harness hook at your waist, lay back your shoulders and ride!

Thinset consistency like peanut butter. Use groove edge of trowel so when you set the tile, thinset doesn't squeeze out. Looks like you figured that out. Looks really good!!
