@SailingGoodBadandUgly This video has an error. Would be awsome if you explained it in a KZbin live 😅

About the constant rain and weather in PR, that didn’t used to be like that when I grew up there in the 80s or 90s. The weather on the island has changed dramatically since then, constant downpours and invasive species all over, snakes, those darn iguanas that eat everything and that brush that is a constant fight to keep on check. Also that suffocating heat wasn’t like that when I grew up. Right about now it should had been nice and cool on the lower 70s and falling. I am not talking about why those weather changes are happening, just pointing out they are. The invasive species have gotten there from illegal imports and released by unscrupulous people that don’t care or think about the caos they create to our environment. I have seen you are having some issues with your plants, there are farms in PR that give training on how to plan successfully in the island, also the Department of Agriculture can point you out in the right direction. I know y’all are both smart and driven, but sometimes one needs a little help since you two have your hands full at the moment. My grandfather used a farmer’s almanac they called “Almanaque Bristol”, through that they figure out the faces of the moon and when and what to plant when. I know it looks like the island has just one season but it doesn’t, it has all 4 seasons and nature can feel it, you need to learn that if you want your farm endeavors to be successful. I will be heading back to the island soon to do the same with my family’s farm on the west. Greetings from the PNW!

You can always have them add ICE to the concrete to slow the temp rise, and they have additives to slow the set

It looks fine to me, I did a slab for my studio a few years ago, completely stuffed it up and there was a couple of inches slope. So I just built the bock walls and got those level, and used floor compound when the structure was all finished. Not sure why you use Rebar though for the walls, seems odd, the walls arent going anywhere are they ?

why wouldn’t you raise it up higher so it’s not so flat to the dirt because when water comes you’re just gonna have water on your pad you should’ve made it like three inches higher and even 4 inches higher to keep the water below the slab

The concrete looks fine! Would it help to get some party canopies? I couldn't see you putting mortar on the ends of the block, only top and bottom. Not familiar with that block either. But you've always make it work!

As always great job Matt. For solar signature solar has systems. If you plan for what you need and not what you think you need a smaller system will suit you ok. If you have an import fee such as in Hawaii go to Miami and out the system on the boat and sail home

No anchor points set in the slab? Ohh drilled in. Next time take a block there before the pour you could just go around the edges making a print to poke the rebar into. Then smooth out the marks.

Have the concrete company add retarder (a chemical Admix) to it to give you more set time. Cost a couple bucks a yard but will save your slab.
