I'm with you bro! This is hard, strange, weird, frustrating, scary, pointless, special, non-creative, and FAST times for sure... I started filming a sit-down video like this too, but I was afraid I would come across too sulky, too down, too hopeless, too much in regret of some sort, so I stopped recording halfway through. BUT now, after watching you in this authentic and precious mode, I actually feel better, so I might just finish that vid! I know everything happens for a reason, but WTF...man, I was supposed to be leading a photography workshop in Iceland right now, and instead, I'm isolated here in Bali, an island you would NOT recognize right now, watching this video and it strangely comforts me and inspires me. Thanks for this video, bro, and I hope to see you out there on adventures again soon!

Hey man, believe me we're all at the struggle right now. I used to daily vlog. Now I'm having the hardest time getting 1 video a week that isn't the biggest pile of poo ever dropped online. Oh, and I know all about the hat. I've been wearing it for 10 years. haha

Dude, I feel this. Went through a month where days would just disappear and I wasn't getting anything done. It's hard when you're inside and see the same things every day. That little spark gets lost in the uber mundane. But I wasn't even catching up on the shows or movies I wanted to instead. Days would just disappear. But I've been trying some similar things to what you're talking about and the past 2 weeks have got me moving back into my stride. It's just always good to know that it happens to others, because it often feels like it's only you going through it.

We're all in this together! At the moment I'm stuck in Melbourne, Australia and my entire family lives in Italy. My mother just recently resulted positive to C19 as she works as a nurse and it was just matter of time. She also lives with 3 immune-compromised people who are extremely at risk right now because of her. To be honest, I still feel like I shouldn't complain about my situation as many other people are in a far worse place right now. Thanks for the video Karl, every once in a while we just need to hear that we're not alone in this! Stay safe everybody but most importantly, stay positive! ❤️❤️❤️

Don’t feel the need to push yourself too much... we understand and we are here for you g! As always love the videos and love that you’ve become more genuine with your audience and love seeing the support for you in these comments. We will be out of this in no time but keep that head up bro!

I really really feel you here! I did some things and didn’t do others, I constantly struggle(d) asked myself if I did enough or not, did finally the exercise or not.. at the end, now I try to remember every day what I created or enjoyed not doing. So embracing the Netflix Binging as a positive thing whilst looking out for framing, colors and storylines as positive as I do the 12h editing session next day or a week later being actually productive. Btw: I‘m so glad you have that unique way of creator youtubeing! It feels honest and real! Please stay like that on here and don’t start putting out just another mavic air 2, whatever new action cam, crazy new mirrorless camera sponsored promo bs video. Love your style!

This definitely sounds familiar! Realised I've been giving myself too much of a hard time, thinking "is this the best way to spend this time?" "am I doing as much as I could be?" and getting frustrated if progress is slow. It's important to remember to go easy on yourself and also recognise the progress you've made, rather than always thinking you should be doing more!

Really really dig the candid vibe of this video. I actually prefer it over the scripts/lines a lot of KZbinrs do..feels more relatable and I definitely relate to everything you've said here. It's a battle of the mind everyday man and on one hand it feels corny being in a 1st world country complaining about being indoors with all these luxuries we have, but on the other hand it doesn't seem right to not be outside socializing and experiencing the world.

I feel you 100%. I took the year off to build my photography business and stepped away from KZbin. Now that I feel I'm ready to start making videos again all this happens and I feel like I'm in a slump that I can't get out of.

Dude I relate to this video in so many ways. It's currently what I'm struggling with at the moment but I try to stay positive. I fully believe that you will come out of this better than before going into it. Also, don't ever feel ashamed to admit when your going through a hard time or that you're not allow to show other emotions than happiness. I see this far too many times where if an influencer were to state what they are going through, they would sometimes receive backlash and comments stating that people less fortunate have it worse. Which can be true, but at the same time those exact people making the comparison don't understand influencers are human as well and no amount of money, social status, etc will negate a person from going through the ups and downs of life. Stay positive man. Your work inspires me everyday and it's my goal to hopefully cross paths with you one day while out on the road.

Absolutely loved this video man. It’s motivating to see one of your favourite artists go through similar phases as yourself. It goes to show that people behind screens aren’t just super humans with seemingly infinite motivation and ambition, but instead have lazy and unmotivated days too. I love what you do and for the first time in a long time, I’ve been able to watch something on my phone and actually feel connected. I’d love to see more of you on KZbin and I reckon you deserve a lot more credit! And your photos on Instagram are the bomb brother 👊💣

It's interesting to see how other people are dealing with this situation. I also can't wait till this is all finally over and travel and borders start opening up again. I travel as much as I can, had a bunch of trips planned, and was finally wanting this to be the year where I focus properly on travel photography/film making. But instead I'm now stuck at home living with my parents, trying to find ways to fill the days - although still stressing about getting money back from all my cancelled bookings (which I do realize is a super lucky situation to be in, if that's kind of the worst that's happened to me when so many people are struggling right now). My previous business had recently died off, so not all that much has really changed for me day to day. But there's plenty of things I could/should be doing. But knowing we likely have to live like this for months kind of makes me feel like why bother, since I've got so much time to fill. I have been slightly more productive recently trying to come up with other ways I can make a living in the meantime, but even still most of the time I just stay up super late watching Netflix/KZbin/TikTok, then sleep away half the day. Being pretty introverted and usually living/working from home, travel was one of the things that always keeps me slightly more sane, with something usually always booked to look forward to and where I would actually meet new people and be more social. I just know that as soon as it's safe to do so, and there aren't too many risk or restrictions. I'm buying the first cheap flight I can to whatever country will let me in. Not only because I will need it after being stuck at home for months. But also as the whole travel industry will desperately need it.
