Bucs - Rays - Bolts HA! Didn't know you liked strung out... love your lightning videos dude, bringing that mishkin fire.

Knows his stuff too. Low gain. So many people pump the gain to bloody 8 and wonder why their tone sucks. A good distortion is actually SMOOTH and CLEAN but with lots of power and punch.

I gotta day, Jake is a totally cool dude. Saw strung out in the boonies in PA back in ‘09. Jake hung out in the crowd before the show while the rest of the band hid backstage. He was such a normal dude, it was friggen cool. He was totally interested in our conversation, asking me questions. Definitely a great dude.

Jake is hands down my favorite player, bought myself a Jackson soloist because of him and I’m currently saving for the evh 5150. Love that strung out tone, powerful and raw yet very precise and technical.

How the hell do you get that early mega scooped Strung Out tone and still keep it clean enough not to make your eardrums bleed?? Is that what a noise gate helps with??? I have a 6505+???

Maybe I just need some EMG's..

I've always liked Strung Outs bright guitars! There was an old christian band called Off The Record that sounded like Strung Out (1st record only) and they used Carvin heads . Here's one of their songs, I uploaded it years ago so the quality isn't what it should be. If you like it let me know and i'll send you a copy kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqiZgo2QoaytqdU

It’s more of a studio trick. You can dial in a really crazy tone on the board and with mixing. It’s kinda like the old Fear Factory stuff. There’s almost no way to recreate it live, so you just get really close
