I’m someone new to the hobby after a decade hiatus, today I ripped two of these and proceeded to get a Skenes/Merrill/Holliday Xfractor alongside a Diamond Dominance, given it sounds like you were hunting for these can yourself or anyone assist in the value of each and if they are worth keeping/selling/grading etc!

People paying more than retail for this product are crazy. It’s not even worth the $50. You get a lot of parallels, but it’s unlikely you’ll hit the players worth hitting. It’s like 1 out of every 5 boxes is good. They’re glorified blasters.

I just stopped at a random target as I was on way home and they were literally stocking the baseball cards so I had to wait in line. 10 people in front of me - all waiting for poleman 😂. Grabbed 4 boxes and got money back plus. 3 autos also

Basically 50$ for a blaster box because 28 cards is not a monster box. I bought a Jackson Merrill magenta lava lamp for 50$ on eBay the other day and I’d say the odds of pulling one of those out of one mega box is pretty bad so I’ll just stick to singles.

Yeah no doubt. Don’t get me wrong, ripping is fun. But for the cost of this product vs the cost of the singles. I just can’t justify spending the money on wax. I’ll just guarantee I’ll get the singles that I want for way cheaper.

Because the Skenes 1/1 Patch is still out there + social media push from Livy Dunne/Pirates, these have gone up but luckily recent restocks might level out the pricing. I bought 1 Mega on release day at GameStop - the guy didn’t have them out displayed - he had them in the drawer and I only saw them because he went into the drawer to get me Flagship Update he was holding for me. The 1 Mega I bought had an Aqua RayWave Skenes /199 + Diamond Dominance + another RC Orange /25. 3 Raywaves total - 2 of which were numbered. If i hadnt hit the Skenes, it’s just a bunch of non-numbered Xfractors and not worth it…

If anyone still wants to get Chrome, Walmart has the Spring release monster boxes for under $70 each. And you can get up to 12 per order. Especially with the MVP buybacks being in then. (FWIW: I got 3 numbered cards and a 4th autograph from 2 boxes I opened earlier this week)

Hey Stryker, long time. I bought two chrome update mega boxes off Amazon because I’ve got about $700 on my account and figure I might as well spend a little also bought a 2022 update hanger with it as well. In the two mega boxes, by far, the best card I got was a Skenes negative, the update hanger didn’t disappoint with a gold Bobby Witt Jr debut. The Witt debut I actually didn’t even have , so that was nice.

I pulled two Jackson Merrill xfractors out of my two boxes and a Yamamoto. I could tell from the correlation that they were not in those boxes. It goes Merrill, Yamamoto, Keith and I think Langford follows. That was in one pack. I think it is worth it for the $50 dollar range.

My take these aren’t worth more than $40 a box. Those 16 parallels are more than likely only worth $1-2 each. Factor in one nice insert or rookie hit worth another 5-10 per box if your lucky

Excellent video and keep up the GREAT WORK!!! Now on to my thoughts. I think you have to look at it this way just because you're not looking for certain RC players you have to remember others are because those players are playing on their home team or came from their home city/town, favorite team and whatnot. They'll want those X-Fractors, Prisms, Refractors and so on so don't just toss them aside like you did they all still have value to someone and or someone's and count overall while you're nickel n diming yes, no, maybe, sometimes, always, never? Also, you can't just toss aside the super star player inserts or parallels they all have value maybe not in your book but again as I said above as we like to say any Trout is a good Trout and the same can be said and holds true for say a Freddie Freeman, Aron Judge, Juan Soto, Shoei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and so on and so on and so on. I try to look at the overall positive picture and in my book you kind of nailed it when you count all the X-Fractors, Prisms, Refractors, Ray Waves, Lavas that you got. But then again what do I know, right? After all I'm just another one of your run of the mill average Joe nobody's giving his 2 cents worth. You and your family have a good, safe and blessed rest of yer day and upcoming weekend.

Just curious, but with this release being late/end of the season, and the hot cards to get are already known, would Topps load the cheaper items like the $50 Mega boxes with more common rookies and load the more expensive products with the more sought-after ones? For instance, they knew by this release that Skenes, Holliday, Chourio were top hits, so would they load these in Mega boxes to a say 1:4 ratio of other less/low sought-after rookies.

Bought 2 boxes on Walmart online today for $50 each. According to Walmart I saved $200. They were selling for $150 a mega. I hesitated at $50, knowing there is just a small chance of pulling the player you want. If you did spend $150 for a mega box, a fool and his money are soon parted.

Normally I'd be all over x-fractors as a reason to rip this, but they made over 300,000 of these boxes...so every player has over 17,000 x-fractors in the population. I'll buy the singles of my guy, but 28 cards for $50, even if 20+ are non-base, just rubs me the wrong way.

One thing i’ve never understood about card collecting if it takes $1000 to rip to find like an “orange numbered card” why doesn’t each orange card go for somewhere near a $1000. Great looking cards, nice checklist but the value is just not there. Spending $150-$300 for 3-4 mega boxes, think of the kind of awesome singles you could buy instead. Sure, there's a chance for an epic auto, but odds are you won't land one
