I like your tone. Most of the videos i listen too on the Iridium make me not want to even consider it as an option to buy, but i like how your making it sound

00:07:18 "What a difference a day made" - what a wonderfull sound, very tastefull iridium settings and even with a "cheap" delay & reverb : )))

So what is the Compadre gonna do for Jazz vs the Iridium? the Flint for Jazz? In addition to reverb and delay...should I use anything else?

NuX Atlantic is honestly such a good pedal. It was my first pedal. I’ve moved on to an empress echosystem and SA Ventris since and despite being much more powerful, the can’t compete with the simplicity of the Atlantic. I spend forever getting the two to work together but never a problem with the Atlantic. Awesome plug and play time space pedal for the money. I fried mine with the wrong adapter so.

In this spectacular sound, what does Iridium contribute? Nux gives you reverb and delay. I don't understand the contribution that Iridium gives.

so for the delay, should it be like a slapback?

what reverb do you use? I have been thinking about the Dream UA, but I'm not sure if a spring very would be good for jazz.

Amazing video. Thanks! I still have a - possibly dumb - question. In the video, you still did have to amplify the Iridium output somehow, right? Maybe by feeding it into a DI box and a digital interface for recording? But how would you use it in a live situation in a small club without a PA? Would you just plug its output into your regular guitar amp? Or would you have to use some active PA box like e.g. a Yamaha DXR12 MKII to amplify it? I apologize for my technical ignorance and I would appreciate any helpful comment.

Am I the only one that is super impressed that this recorded direct, no amp, no actual speaker?

Thanks Johnathan, really helpful as most videos are focused on distorted sounds. I was thinking of plugging one of these in to an AER Compact 60 - what do you think?

Hi John. At the risk of being a nuisance to you, which I certainly don't wish to be, but any chance you could post the chords with names - (as in what key you're using them in) - that you're using at the beginning of the video. Very nice sounding voicings throughout the whole video, and a great insightful video and lovely tone. It would make a very good chord video, aside from the lovely guitar tone. :-)

Second this. Beautiful voicings and it would be amazing if you showed the chords for those who are new to jazz playing.

What do you think about the ShiftLine Twin as a jazz recording platform? Your other video comparing the two almost has me convinced that I would prefer the Twin...

I like Iridium for jazz tone, it's really impressive! Nice play, nice tone but... sorry, i don't agree with you on short time delay for jazz tone as general rule, i think "time is time" and it needs to set according to the mood (and bpm of course) of the song :)

Thanks for the nice tips! Lovely tone :) I’ll try it thus evening with my Iridium and my PRS. First time I noticed you using the NUX Atlantic, how do you find it?

@@johnnathancordy Hey, for these Iridium videos, do you do any editing in your DAW (eg, EQ, compression, etc)? I'm loving these sounds but not very knowledgeable about recording so I need something super simple! Thanks!

I'm really enjoying the sounds you're getting out of the Iridium. I'm shopping for a new rig now and this is near the top of my list. Are you running through a cab of some sort with it when you're not recording?
