Thank you for part 2 and the bits with the distortion. They low cut knob is usefully in managing the amount of lower end harmonic content in the feedback circuit. I would need to hear this with my rig. It I’m closer to pull the trigger

Nice pair of videos to demonstrate/educate about the Volante, TPR. Thanks!

Really nice demo! Convinced me to keep my Boss RE 20 space Echo tough. It just sounds better and in the multi head settings, way more spacial and chimey modulated
@TriPedalReviews5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Make sure to also check out Part 1. This demo was meant primarily to showcase getting clear repeats & demo some distortion with it, but I went over modulation on the various modes in Part 1. On a side note, I'd love to try a real Space Echo some day :)

@@TriPedalReviews have you ever tried the Boss version? I have a real Space echo in the studio and use the pedal live. It REALLY nails the space Echo

@@TropicalFuzz I have tried the Boss version RE-20, I didn't like the verb in it. I'm not sure how well the verb specifically measures up against the real thing? I'm a spring verb nut, so I'm very picky in that area. You mention modulation, that was one of my gripes with the RE-20 at the time was no way to seemingly control the modulation(wow & flutter). I do have the Boss DD-500 which has a mode for the Space Echo. I've also previously owned the RV-500 which also had a mode for space echo. I might give the RE-20 another shot. I decided to give the Nux Tape Core Deluxe a try. as it has some modulation control. I've heard good things.

@@TriPedalReviews the verb it's like in the real thing: horrible. Hehehe. How you measure your DD 500 with the Volante? It oscillates and pitches changing delay parameters?
@TriPedalReviews5 жыл бұрын
@@TropicalFuzz The DD-500 oscillates on some engines, others not. The RE-201 engine I can barely get to oscillate. It does change pitch in real time if you start adjusting speed for instance. I keep the DD-500 around for the more unique delays it does, but for the most part it's not one of my favorites. Volante is much more inspiring for me personally and I enjoy the work flow. But I think they are completely different beasts. The RE-201 mode on the DD-500 has control of WOW & Flutter as 1 parameter, and you also have control over mod rate & depth. So as far as modulation goes, a bit more flexible than the RE-20. No spring verb though!

It’s interesting you’re using head 4 (quarter note head) for dotted 8th delays instead of head 3 (dotted 8th head) lol

How do you think this compares to the timelines multihead function? Also it would be interesting to see how it fares against the Dawner Boonar. Great job!
@TriPedalReviews5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think you are referring to "Dual" mode on the Timeline, instead of heads you choose fractions for a 2nd delay line relative to the first. This is a bit different concept than the multi head, but can sound similar in some regards. Timeline doesn't have things like silver or golden ratio on that mode, also no selection of playback/feedback heads You miss out on many of the tone shaping tools for prominent or subdued sounds, as well as modulation options for the repeats. A dual delay is going to be a bit better about keeping rhythm and not washing out. Multi heads are better with creating that nice underlying washed out reverb type sound when multiple heads are selected. Multi Heads can still keep decent rhythm under certain settings, but the range at which it does it is not as great as a dual delay. I plan on doing a shootout video with the Boonar in the future, so stay tuned for that if interested. It will be done in mono as the Boonar is mono.

@@TriPedalReviews Thank you for the reponse! Maybe also include the Catalinbread Echorec as well.I guess Ill have to get a multi tap echo in conjunction with my timeline... and now EHX has the grand canyon! Almost too many many to choose from. And all are good.

Dp you plan on keeping this or is there the possibility of option overload?
@TriPedalReviews5 жыл бұрын
Some people don't get along with more options. I'm not one of those people. I'm not bothered by having options and not using them. This doesn't strike me as a product that would appeal to those that are bugged by this. That said, I'll definitely be keeping this. It is certainly a stand out in the Multi Head delay department. It's a versatile delay if you know what you are doing. With the complexity it wont be everyone's cup of tea. Hopefully my videos help simplify it a bit.

Tri Pedal Reviews that’s how I feel also. If you know what your doing possibilities are endless. Especially with the studio mode you can get pretty clean almost digital, which I hardly use but is nice when you need it. Timeline may be little more versatile, but this checks all my boxes. I had an empress echo system before this, and I don’t regret the change one bit.

Thank you! Everyones favorite to hate, the Metal Zone :) I usually just play with the volume knob on my guitar till I have the saturation I want. It is not the most dynamic thing in the world, but it has a little wiggle room.
