Saw this tour in Brisbane was the first concert I saw by an international band and was lucky enough to catch a little Bible which Tim Gaines signed for me. As another aside the band who opened were called Black Widow and a year later I would be a founding member of their new band Iron Lightning

You have no right to judge whether they 'know' about faith. There's no reason to believe they don't. They always came off as sincere to me. Also, whether their music and clothes are 'weird' is irrelevant and purely subjective. Fashion and music styles evolve and change. They dressed and played in the same way that many other bands did at the time and reached a lot of people within the rock scene with their message. Live and let live.

I heard a radio interview with members of Stryper. They were asked about their beginnings, in the heavy metal scene around Los Angeles. It was mentioned how Stryper often performed at the same venues as secular metal bands, like Guns N Roses. Through this, the members of Stryper became friends with these bands. Who knows, they could have planted seeds in these people.
