Even though it's obviously the studio recording, it still gets the job done quite nicely. They did a great job making it LOOK live. Plus, back then, all TV shows did it that way.

Into the Night starring Rick Dees was the name of the late night show where this was filmed, I remember watching it when it came out. Definitely playback, Michael even references it in the interview portion, makes a comment to Robert about “playing”. I’m sure that was the policy of the show, doesn’t matter because Stryper is awesome live.

Wow, that was impressive! The singers sings quite well some parts but runs into trouble here and there. I don't blame him either, covering Michael Sweet is very difficult, bro! I must admit he does resemble Sweet but you can tell it's not him cause Sweet always wore a striped yellow and black uniform. All in all a heartfelt and brave rendition of a great song. If they were persuaded to put on the yellow & black outfits people could be fooled into thinking they were the real thing. Lovely cover, thanks for sharing guys!! 😉

one of the few bands ive seen that are able to replicate the album sound live, but then again the album versions are very raw recordings. The never added millions of effects to BS the audience. Damn good musicians all around. Look where Michael is now.

This was obviously filmed for a TV show, and there is clearly atleast 3 guitars playing, so yes I'd say this is playback. But just because its for a tv show. They may have gave him a live mic and cut the vocal track. At a regular concert, of course they don't use play back, they would get found out too quick

Es playback..pero que importa... eso no indica que no toquen nada...Stryper es una super banda y tiene un super vocalista. El playback en tv se usa cuando no hay las condiciones para tocar en vivo... es preferible hacerlo a tocar en vivo y sonar mal.

Yup, they don't use lip sync'n, Michael and Oz are very good vocalists. They do however use a ton of effects to fatten up the tone a bit, but this IS live.
