Yep, Stryper breaks all the rules. What other band is truly better in 2022 than they were in the "glory days"? What a brilliant combination of the classic elements intertwined with contemporary power. They cover every single sub-genre of metal this side of "extreme metal". Oh wait, they dabbled in that too two albums back.... I feel sorry for anybody who refuses to give them a chance because of the message.

This band is just awesome. Mikes vocals are second to none, period. All the band members are so talented and just get better and better. I think they should come out with "how to" videos on singing, drums, bass and guitar. This song is fucking ridiculous in the most respectful way. Mike holds the first scream for 15 seconds. That's impressive being that high. They look great and just get more phenomenal with time.

I got familiar with your channel for Even the Devil Believes. I love how honest you are with your reviews and dig the fact that you’re a big Stryper fan. A lot of times when people review Stryper albums that aren’t Christians, they end up trashing all over it because of their faith based lyrics. When Stryper first came out, it took me a while to figure out if I liked them. They looked like girls, and I even mistook some of the vocals for being female… Michael, Robert and Tim had visited a roller skating rink that had Christian Skate nights once, and had an autograph party for one of their new albums… once I have them a good listen, I was actually blown away by their musicianship and talent! 🙀 While everyone is commenting on the music itself, I thought I would give my interpretation of the lyrical content, which is a huge part of what Stryper is all about. Jesus promised that when you Transgress from the old and become a new creature in Christ after being born again, you are then on the narrow road to eternal life as opposed to the wide road that leads to death, destruction, and the absence of God and many are said to be on it. I believe this is part of the message that Stryper is singing about. Musically this has everything going for it, while the video is top notch.

I would really love and appreciate to hear you do a "Stryper deepcut" review of my favorite 80's Stryper track ( Waiting for) A Love That's Real. I always thought it had a uniqueness from the other tracks on Soldiers Under Command, and did not, and still does not, get the attention and credit it deserves. IMO it should have been a big hit single. That whole intro with the organ and opening riff, bass, and drums, is still is one of my favorite Stryper openings. The main riff is heavy and melodic perfection. Michael's melodic vocal inflections and choices of how he says a word and enters / exits a phrase, that unique to this track rasp he adds to the elongated word, " unkiiiiiiiiinnnnnd." I just love Michael's vocal choices throughout the song. When he sings "Patiently.......she waits for Godly love"...soft high voice perfection. Then he goes into the build up to a great melodic scream wi th " Knowing that someday, it will come from aboooooooove!!!" Love this song, never get tired of it. It stood out to me in 1985, and still does. Thanks.

@@iridiumrockandmetalreviews2128 the story I heard back then in the 80's, is that they didn't have lyrics for the track when they went in to record. The lyrics were written last minute right before he had to sing them. Soldiers Under Command album was recorded over like 2 weeks. If true, that is amazing. That album is iconic and Imo their best 80's album.

@@iridiumrockandmetalreviews2128 Great song. Love Michael's "hmmmmmm" after the epic scream at the beginning. Definitely one of the heaviest, most metal tracks allong with Soldiers and The Rock that Makes me Roll. The robot effect used at one point on a couple lines could have been cheesey but they made it wotk. It felt like it was the guitar showcase song. Almost as if it could have been a Metal instrumental and the lyrics were there as an introduction to the guitar fury. The intro and outro, Robert's floor Tom beats....ya phenomenal track. Great album.
